Vista Sound Problem. (Searched every where)
I have looked all over the internet for a fix for this. The other night, Vista updated while I was asleep, rebooted. I had no idea what it installed.
Well, I log into ventrillo (voice chat program I use.) to say hi to everyone I couldn't hear anyone. I turn my volume up to 100% and I had to use special effect> Volume 800% increase on everyone.
I watch a youtube video, I can barely hear it on max volume.
It says I have a High Def Audio Device (Headphones), thats all I can tell you about it.
I can't find a way to make the sound louder, it's up Maxx 100% on everything, I don't get what's going on and I can't find a program that works with vista that will allow me to make it louder..
ALSO.. My sound quality is crap now.. What did they do in that update? ugh..
Anyone got any suggestions?
P.S.. The mixer is up 100% and that little green bar goes 30% max when I play anything. This just happened, I didn't download or change anything. I woke up to a rebooted computer and bam, this.. It's SO frustrating. Thanks.

Try reinstalling your sound drivers again. Also you have to switch between speakers and headphones option when either of the one is connected in your computer by going into Sound, Speech and Audio Devices, first try out this.

Re: Vista Sound Problem. (Searched every where)
thank you for the replies..
i have tried everything you guys have said for me to do. The only thing that has worked is I got some speakers that had a head phone plug in and a volume control. I plug in my head phones and I have to turn it up. My sound quality is horrible.
How do I delete a update that microsoft has installed?
Re: Vista Sound Problem. (Searched every where)
Open Device manager, There locate your sound card and update the drivers, It will not be located automaticaaly, you will have to force install the previous drivers... All the best!:thumbup1:

Sadly i've already done this, and nothing worked to help with my problem.. I was more wondering how I could get rid of the recent update vista installed since im pretty sure that's what caused this problem. One person above did reply "get rid of the update"... but didnt tell me how..

Restore to a point before some of the updates was install.
Reboot
Do another update.
-OR-
I suggest to make a full recovery of the computer.
