Cannot receive email Error code 0x800CCC92
I get this message when I sign into my Windows mail:
Account: 'HOME', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid username/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
I have Vista OS. When I try to open my email I am asked to provide (for no apparent reason, out of the blue) a username and password. When I do this, it is to no avail.
Help?
PS Just realized I cannot send email either
Re: Cannot receive email Error code 0x800CCC92
There are various reason for the error.I can due to incorrect POP3 server name. The other reason are that there can be incorrect SPA or APAP support on the mail server from where you are trying to access themails. It also possible that the SSL is not proper in the same problem. Wait for sometime the problem also occurs due to temporary mail service issue and get fixed automatically after sometime.

Hi,
Thanks. I have waited 5 days and there was no automatic fix. I don't know what SPA, APAP or SSL stand for.
I appreciate you replying.

Most probably, such error occurs with Outlook, windows mail or Vista mail because of some conflict of your antivirus. I'll suggest you to please turn off your Antivirus and try to access the mail. Most of the times Windows Defender and Avast has been found as the culprit of this error. Hope you will also find some help from the following post:
