    0x800CCC92 error

    Hi can someone please help me ?? in my Microsoft outlook I get the following message when I first log in.

    Task 'mail.optusnet.com.au - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: ????????????'

    I can receive and send emails without a problem, but I always get this error message at the beginning.

    Can anyone explain why or how to fix this?

    This is what Microsoft says on 0x800CCC92 error
    Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
    This problem was corrected in Exchange 2000 Server SP2.
    Contact the Exchange administrator to verify that he or she has applied Exchange 2000 Server SP2 or a later service pack to resolve this problem.

    Check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are as in the screenshots, and that your full username and password are correct.

    If you are still having problems, it could be that your password has somehow become corrupted. Try changing it in My Account.

    You may have "Log on using Secure Password Authentication", or "My server requires authentication" checked, when you may not need to. Try to uncheck one of these at a time and hit the Send/receive button to see if you get that message.

    I still haven't found a solution. I don think the issue is what Outlook. I think a registry setting is corrupted. Problem is, I don't know where or what that setting is.

    If you see this error, make sure your username is correct in your email settings. You may have to retype your username, or recreate your email account.
