Microsoft Surface pro heating problem

OK, its been a long time since Surface Pro released last year but i bought this finally last week. I must say it is one of the best tablets with Windows 8 compared to other brands like Samsung Ativ or Dell Latitide hybrid tablet pcs. I loved its features and all but there is a serious problem. It is overheating a lot if i use the device continuously for about half an hour. Even one of my friend is using MS Surface but he doesn't have any heating problem. Do anyone of you also facing heating problem or is it just my unit? Please suggest me some fix for the same? Should i take it to service center for repair or replacement? Please help soon.

usually all gadgets use to get Overheated after using them for long time continuously but heating up in half an hour sounds bit weird. No devices (specially MS Surface) should not get overheated so early. Are you using it while charging the tablet?

I too have the same but mine use to start overheating after continuous use of about 6 hours. If you are using the tablet during charge and complaining for overheating then this is normal, but if its heats up normally well, you should better take it to service center as the device appears to be faulty.

I too have the heating problem with Surface. It is 128GB Variant of Surface Pro. Usually starts heating after 8 to 10 minutes specially while playing games like Minesweeper. Tried several suggestions form the web but nothing seems to be working. Hope Microsoft fixes the same with any firmware update.

As far as i know Microsoft has already released a patch for this months ago in March to fix the heating issues with Surface Pro. Did you run Windows Updates on your Tablet? If no, hence you are still facing the heating issues. It was known as "Patch Tuesday" probably released on March 14th. Many people already solved their heating problems applying the same. Try it.
