Will you buy the new expensive Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000 and why?

I just say the preview of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in our local electronic shop and I think it is one of the best 10 inch tablets available in market. The display of it looks so great that we can comfortably watch movies on it while lying on the bed. The person showing the tablet didn’t show any features that could be useful for professional use, but the features he was showing which were meant for entertainment was awesome. What do you people think about Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?

I got a chance to hold the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 once during the display event at nearby shopping mall and I think that the body of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is nicely made. The design gives a classy look to the person that is holding the tablet. With great built and the design, It is very comfortable to hold and handle. The beveled edges of the tablet gives a better grip on the tablet as it perfectly fits in the palms of the person holding it. Many people think that 10 inch tablets are bad for portability, carrying them around becomes problematic. But in case of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, developers have kept the weight down so that carrying it around doesn’t become troublesome.

The body of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is made of some poor quality material. After using iPad 2 for a long time, I am habituated to use the tablet with metal back. But after handling Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, I think that the plastic back cover is made of normal plastic with nothing new to offer. The overall material too is not so good. You will often see fingerprints across the tablet from all the use you make. After using the tablet for hour or so, you will find the screen of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and also the back side filled with fingerprints. Also I didn’t like the placement of the speakers much.

The display of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the worse part thing about it. I mean nowadays every tablet makes displays which are of high definition quality. The resolution of the display goes up to 1280 X 1024 to 1920 X 1280 under the 10 inch display. But here in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the 10 inch display has resolution of only. I mean we will be spending around Rs. 45000 to not have high definition display, I still don’t understand, what were the developers thinking. Also the glass covering the display that is used in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is not so great. Today every other mobile phone or tablet comes with gorilla glass over it for protection from scratches. But here we get a normal glass for it.

One thing good about Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the amount of storage space we get in it. The internal memory space of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is of 16 GB and can be expanded up to 64 GB. So it means we can have around 80 GB of memory space in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. But I think that 16 GB internal memory space in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is more than enough for storing the applications that we need to install in this tablet. I will be using Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for purpose of entertainment and I think that 16 GB will be enough to store movies, apps, music and other such content. Also we get free subscription of dropbox for 2 years. This means we get 50 GB of cloud storage too with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

With a processor of frequency of 1.4 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, I think that Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is good in terms of its smoothness and working experience. I used this tablet which my friend had. He had installed a numerous apps in it and I would like to say that it was the smoothest experience I ever had. With some apps open and some other apps running in background, I didn’t feel any lags or lack in smoothness of the tablets operation. Also the multi touch screen makes it easier to operate the tablet. It is fun to play games and do other stuff on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 because of this awesome feature.

The multi screen feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the best feature that I think will help us in working at a professional level. We can split the screen in three parts, which are the keyboard, text editor and the web browser. Using these splitting techniques, we can do the work faster and more efficiently. If we have to make a note with details of some email or maybe make a statistic research from some website, we will be able to visit the website in one split screen while type the research details in the split screen with text editor. Also if we need to type out some conversation, we can play video or audio in one split screen, while type the contents in the split screen with text editor.

One thing I didn’t like about Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is that the in-built widgets. They are quite fine for the tablet, but the color scheme that is used on them is really bad. They have a brownish khaki type of theming which makes the whole system look bad.

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed in it, I think that something much better should have been provided in it. I don’t know why, but the widgets and the on screen layout of this tablet really makes me go away from it.

The camera of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is good and it can be used for casual photography. For example, you see a car on the street and want to click its picture or maybe your girlfriend would like to take picture with some cute kitten she finds in the street. The front camera is great for conference calls and other such stuff.

One thing that is connected to the camera is the photo editing application. It provides some good options that we can use to edit the clicked photographs. We can cut out certain part and in it with another background and so on. The video recording is ordinary with nothing much to care about.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is not made up to the level of iPad 2 and I think this time Apple wins with a big margin. I think the price of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is just too high according to the features that it provides. If ever I have to spend such a huge amount of money on a tablet pc, I think that it would be much more appropriate to send them on Nexus 7 or ASUS Infinity Prime. I wouldn’t suggest Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to anyone not just because of its high price, but also because of not having features that will live up to such high price.
