No Stylus provided with Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1

Recently I have bought a new Droid Xyboard 10.1. I was very much eager to get the active stylus with this product but unfortunate what came to my notice was that there was no stylus provided to me in the package.

I am sure there has to be a stylus present in the pack. Before making a purchase I did all sort of research and also referred number of sources including help and tutorials on their sites, and in all of them it was clearly mentioned that 10.1 comes with the active stylus. I am really very confused with this thing, can anyone let me know the fact whether Motorola really provides us with a stylus. If yes then why not they provided me with the same?

Hey I too believe that there is some confusion going around with respect to this product. The information which you have found is nowhere faulty or fake. But I would like to tell you something; recently with the help of the customer service I did found a page in the site that lists “contents of the box”. This list nowhere stated anything about the stylus even if the keyboard and the portfolio accessories have the stylus holder which is built right into it. But if you check in certain other things, like ones which you have mentioned, you would surely find some contradicting things.

The only thing I would like to tell you is to check out your box again properly. If you inspect your box, on the back of the sleeve surrounding the box of your Xyboard you would find a list saying “Package Contains”.

Just make sure that stylus is listed over there in that list. If not then probably the model which you own doesn’t comes up with a stylus. If possible please let me know the model of Xyboard which you have purchased.

Hey I too have some same related doubts. I just want to ensure that whether they really do provide us with the stylus or not. After reading out the above suggestion I clearly checked out the “Package contains” and within that list there is no where mentioned about the stylus, I guess the stylus was never intended to be there in the package. But then why those certain sites and pages have mentioned about the presence of the stylus?

Its very much annoying to see that Motorola is misleading certain information. I can still bet you that there are many other places around in this site that have mentioned about the stylus being available with this product.
This is really very much irritating to see that Motorola is not really satisfying their customers. If you remember they use say that Customer satisfaction is based on expectations, so obviously once if the customer expectations are met they are going to be happy but if you purposely raise their expectation by providing wrong information then surely they are going to get disappointed.

Yes you are right, I would surely agree with your comment. Seems like the stylus is really not provided with the wifi version. I recently purchased a Droid Xyboard 10.1 WiFi and as expected even I was not offered with the stylus. I personally assumed that the wifi version would surely have the same accessories as the LET version.

Anyways for the current access I am using my figure tip and its working quite well and smoothly but really I would prefer a stylus for my product and it would be really helpful if Motorola provide us with one no matter how much they ask in return with respect to money.

I am not sure why exactly it happened with you all people but let me tell you that My Droid Xyboard 10.1 actually came with a Stylus. I bought my Xyboard from Verizon. Also when I checked out the box list, it actually listed the stylus as one of the included accessory on the box and when checked their website it listed over there also.
Maybe it wouldn’t come up with the wifi version but the 4g version of Xyboard 10.1 does come up with a stylus for sure with no extra included cost.

I would personally believe that those people who didn’t get a stylus are damn lucky, because this stylus doesn’t really works that great. If you check out the video tutorial on their site they would say that the stylus works great and smoothly which is actually not the fact. Just because I was not provided with a stylus I thought to send back the wifi unit and then go for getting one from Verizon without any data contract in order to get the stylus, but then also noticed a huge price difference between them, if the stylus is really not working good then whats the use of investing an extra amount just to get that useless stylus.

The stylus which is provided is not so quick responsive also it does cuts out some times. The styluses that comes with the devices are very much blunt and also the apps that allow writing lacks in details and real estate compared to pen and paper.

Surely I am going to get all the required and necessary clarification about the stylus issue, and the major question will be regarding its availability and cost. There are certain information which I have got:

• The stylus that is currently provided only works with the Xyboard 10.1 and not with the 8.2, maybe some additional drivers are required for the support
• If you check you will notice a hard tip on it. Unlike the one which you get a Best Buy
• It also doesn’t requires a AAAA battery
