    HP Envy 17 3D constantly freezes

    Hello friends, I have got the brand new HP Envy 17 3D for me and started getting the problem with it. It is keep on freezing, does not know that what the problem is with. Download couple of the drivers from HP, but then also it has not fixed the problem for me. Having Windows 7 Home premium, 64-bit. It freezes after one hour of the usage. Is anyone else also getting the problem and please suggest me that what should I do? Thank you.

    I think your system might be having the pre-installed Microsoft Security Essentials which is the free antivirus and antimalware software, so I would suggest that you better uninstall those from the system and then after that you try to check the problem is still coming or not.

    I am having the HP Envy 17-2290nr 3D and was having the same problem with it. Temporary solution for it was to get the old driver package back on it. I think you need to have the 13.0.0.107 driver for it, might not be perfect solution for you but will be stop the lockup issue or might be locking up once in a week. I believe that it is happening with the Intel Centrino 6200N wi-fi card, where I have done the complaint and will be getting a new version of the card to install.

    Downloaded the 13.0.0.107 driver for me, then also it has not worked for me. Uninstalled the latest driver and also checked the box to delete the driver software from the computer. When the installation was done then it was telling me that I am having the 14.0.1.2 and after sometime it was showing me 14.0.2.2. I could not understand it, how it is possible to get 13 drivers to install?

    If you are installation from the 13.0.0.107 driver link then it will install it. When you are doing it then I would suggest that you better turn off full auto updates. It will be jumping forward and can use the rollback driver button. I have called the HP customer car and spoken to Envy specialized support, then also it was not help for me. Then I have worked on it overnight on the 6200 n Wi-Fi board with old driver and it use to work perfectly with me. I would also say that you better check for the reference driver from Intel from here.

    2 weeks ago I have purchased the Envy 17 3D 2090R and also getting the freezing problem with it, I believe that it is been very prevalent. I am very much sure that it is due to the Intel Centrino 6200 hardware and drivers. I am thinking to get the 6300 card for me which will be solving the problem of mine.

    Let me tell you that it is not necessary to have the 6300n, where the HP has send me the 6200 and using the older drivers I was able to solve the problem for me. Even one of the above users has told the same. I am running it and did not have the problem from past one month. So I would suggest that you also contact with HP and try to get the 6200 for you and install over driver, such that 13.0.0.107 driver on to it and it will be not giving the problem again.

    I have received the 13 driver and have install it, till now it is been working very much fine and also good. I really believe that the intel should work and fix the problem and work it out.
