Before I suggest you something about this I will like to know that why did you chose T7200 cpu, I mean that I have found a no of people having problem with it, so just wanted to know that if you were not aware of the same or what?

I was not aware of people facing problem with it and as far as choosing the T7200 cpu is concerned, I had contacted the Dell Customer Support and had addressed them that I want to upgrade the cpu and which intel duo2 core cpu’s will work, so they had suggested me the below ones, and that is why I went for T7200 cpu:
    • Intel Core 2 Duo T5500
    • Intel Core 2 Duo T5600
    • Intel Core 2 Duo T7200

I don’t think that there should be any such problem with the T7200, I mean that even I have upgraded to the same recently and it is working just great in my case and I am really not having any issues with it, I think that the T7200 you have bought might be faulty, if possible just get it checked again form the place you have bought.

Yes even I have heard the same, actually the T7200 cpu is a dual core and it is not supported well with some D520's. Other than this I have found that 945GM and the 945GML are also not supported by the dual core. You can just check out the same here if you want.

Ok thanks for your suggestions, I was not aware that it won’t work with D520's but then I don’t know why I was suggested the same from the Dell Customer Support. I will contact them again and will address the whole case, Let’s see what happens.
