Not able to find stereo mix on Dell Vostro windows 7

I have recently bought the dell vostro 3550 laptop which runs on the windows 7. So as going through the laptop functions what I see is that stereo mix option is not available. So I want to know that where can I find the settings for the stereo mix. Do anyone know about this as while playing the video or listening the music stereo sound is missing and so want to enable it.

Have you checked the IDT HD Audio is enable or not. Because I guess that it may be due to the unavailable of the IDT hd audio. And also see that you have an appropriate update to the sound card drivers. So keep in mind this things and go on with it and see that you are able to get the stereo mix sound in the dell vostro notebook laptop or not.

Actually I tried with the above procedure which you have mentioned. I re-installed the proper sound card drivers and restarted the system and also checked the IDT HD audio which is set to enable. So as going through cannot find the way to find the stereo mix settings. So is there any other way from where I can find the stereo mix audio sound in my laptop.

According to me as I’m using the same laptop I have gone through the laptop settings for the stereo mix settings and I would say that the IDT stereo mix is not supported in the dell vostro laptop, it only supports sigmatel and realtek. So if you are looking for the stere4o mix in this laptop then I must say that they do not provide the stereo mix in the laptop. and if you want to see the IDT than go to the sound properties and if you cannot see the IDT then I think your sound driver is not installed and you should installed the drivers.

You can record the sounds while going in the IDT and then recording it by selecting the default mode, as I have done the same by following this procedure and able to record it. so you must try doing this.
