Poor quality design in Sony VAIO SB series

As I’m thinking of buying the Sony VAIO SB series laptop for myself I would like to know whether should I buy the laptop or should try another one. Because this I’m asking you is due to I have heard from some of the colleagues who are working in my office and using the same series laptop that the features in the laptop are fine but they have lacked the design quality. So before buying the laptop I want to ask you is that is it better to buy the laptop or go for another one.

As I’m using the Sony VAIO SB series laptop and would say the features in the laptop is best and meets my requirements. But the thing which I hate in this series is the poor quality design and which I think is the major drawback in the laptop. I guess if anyone thinking of buying the laptop just avoid it from buying and try for another one.

Have the same answer for this laptop, because there are several reasons why I would say this

1. The mouse touchpad button is not working fine, the extreme left corner of the button and the extreme right corner of button does not work well.
2. I have seen the gaps between the USB port which joins both the cover is more
3. From the backside of the laptop I see huge gap in the DVD tray.
4. Finger print reader is not in the proper position.

And there are many of the reason where the Sony have lack the good design build. So from my view one should not go for buying this laptop instead go with some other series of the Sony laptop.

Even …I was thinking of buying the same series laptop but after the reviews I have seen not only here but on many of the sites regarding the terrible design of the SB series laptop. So after this I changed up my mind and going for other brands.

I’m using the sony vaio SB series of the laptop and don’t think the design of the laptop as you are describing is so poor. I agree that some of the designs are not up to the mark but it doesn’t mean the whole design is poorly build. I think it might be possible that the mouse button which are not working fine may be got damaged by some other reason because mine is working fine without any issues.

I always trust Sony for the best quality devices, but after seeing this device what I feel is that Sony is more better in the good quality designs especially when it come to the laptop. how can they be so irresponsible for this. So I think this time Sony has really disappointed us with launching this type of the laptop.

I have gone through many of the laptops but never seen this type of design for the finger print reader. This seems so messy that no of the laptop has or will have this bad design. So I think the impression of making the good quality laptop is no more and have to think twice before buying the Sony SB series of laptop and if you wanna buy the laptop then try buying from other brands. As after seeing the bad designs in the Sony laptop, I don’t think so it worth buying it.

I bought the Vaio SB and will tell you right now the trackpad is poorly designed. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!!!! It's too bad because the other features are fine for the price. With my first SB (purchased 10/11) the trackpad was under-sensitive, then it worked only 10% of the time, then I called technical support and someone remotely tried to re-install the software, but as a result the trackpad stopped working completely. I had to use a wireless mouse. A technician was sent to my home, and he replaced the motherboard and something else. Still didn't work. I returned the SB to the Sony store, and I got a brand new SB after being told the first was a "buggy" laptop. I now have SB #2, and the trackpad still sucks. I would return it again, but what's the point? They all seem to have poor trackpad performance.
