Does Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime supports H264 format videos?

Hi guys, i have used the previous transformer but I just sold it just because of one of my major issues was the tablet could not play h264 movies. But when i came across their official website i came to know that they are coming up with the newer tablet once again that’s the prime, thus i want to know whether the device will support the video format i have mentioned? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I am not sure about the video format compatibility but still the format that you have mentioned is been supported by the cheaper devices as well, so obviously this could be surely compatible with the prime for sure. Thus i would like to recommend you that if you are really interested in this device then it will be surely better for you. and after all i don’t think that the video format compatibility could be the only considerable thing while you buy the device because if you look at the hardware specification you have better idea about the device. in fact i don’t know whether you are aware about the same or not but still let me tell you as this is the world’s first tegra 3 powered quad-core tablet.

Exact i am agree with the above user as you should consider so many other thing rather than the video format compatibility. Because see as far as videos are concern you can have too many other options such as you can make use of another player in the tablet rather than you default one.

Have you ever tried running another applications rather player with your previous device, because it might be possible that you haven’t upgraded the system firmware and that’s why you must be having this disadvantage with the device.

As far as i know the device could play the video format such as H.264 (HP @ 40Mbps), VC-1 AP, MPEG2, MPEG-4, DivX 4/5, XviD HT, H.263, Theora, VP8, WMV, Sorenson Spark, Real Video, VP6.

Though i am agree with the above user but still there are so many other options such as making use of another player as mentioned above.

But still i think the newer ICS update will also let you enable to play all such videos on the device. but it would be better if you wait till the device gets released so that you can have better idea about the all the fundamental compatibility.

I was also thinking about the same thing dude, but i have gotten problem with that As well with my previous device as whenever i make use of another player they ran the videos extremely slowly, some applications would play the movie with no sound, others would play the sound but both the video and sound were very slow, sometime there is no synchronization between the audio and video.

But still as i have heard that the device comes up with the newer android 4.0, so whether the newer OS will fix this video format compatibility? And i think the device is available for preordering only, isn’t it? So from where can i have it?
