Is there 3g modem support for Rockchip APad Android 1.5

I have recently bought a Rockchip APad Android 1.5 and they are working quite well but I have seen that they are being advertised with the 3G support but then I have not found a 3G sim slot I have tried it using via USB having Huwei E220 thinking that if it is having 3g support then it will surely work but then it is not making any difference, I have also tried adding APN's but have not got any success yet. So I just wanted to know that Is there 3g modem support for Rockchip APad Android 1.5? And if yes than how can I use it? Any suggestion regarding the same will be appreciated.

Hey I am having the same doubt and I think that it is there as they have advertised the same but then I am not that sure about it and even I have tried the same method, actually I am having Haipad Telechip Android 2.1 device and I have tried to use it with the Huwei E1550 but when I connect it then I am not getting any response from it and it just does not do anything and I do not get any kind of error message or something that can be used to find the cause for the problem. Even I have tried adding the apn but I have not got any luck by now. I have been searching a solution for the same in a no of forum but then I have not found an effective solution to get it work.

I will like to inform you that both of the above Haipad Telechip Android 2.1 and the Rockchip APad Android 1.5 are not having 3g support until now but then I don’t know why they have been advertising it. I have also found that even the latest Telechip are not having 3g support but then they have been advertising it as well. So I think that trying to get it work with the above modems is just a waste of time because it is not having 3g support at all.

I don’t think that even the latest Telechip are not having the 3g support and I think that it should work in your case as well if they have advertised and on the other hand I will like to share that I am using 3g on my tablet using the same Huawei E220 and I am not having any problem with it as well. In order to get it worked I had just entered the name for the connection and after that I have entered the no for the dial up connection which was *99# and after that the APN will be according to the network you are using.

Hey guys I think that I can help out out.
If you are having Rockchip APad Android 1.5 then you can try out using the 3g with the help of the adhocable by connect via WIFI.
If you are having haipad you will just have to update the firmware and as far as I am aware of it is M701 and you can get the M701 firmware from haipad dot net and then update it.
I have also found that it works with most of the HUAWEI modems, I mean that I am sure that it works with most of them in Australia for 3g. So Just check it out and then let me know if you are able to get it work or not.

Yes I agree to you I have founds the following modems and carriers to be working in Australia and these has been confirmed by a lot of users as well. If you want more than let me know I will add the same in the list as well:

• HUAWEI E1553 Three network

It has worked for me as well on my Apad iRobot and it is having a build number RK-1.3.2.eng.root.20100729.130751 7 and as far as the Modem is concerned it is Huawei E226 and I am having the Movistar VenezuelaIt line and I have been using the same from a long time and I will like to share that the it does not have any problem in recognizing the network and it works perfectly as well.

I am having a JY-8006 android 2.3 and I am trying to connect it to the Huawei E1731 USB 3G Modem but then it is not working out for me and it keeps giving me message saying that SCSI is damaged and it should be reformatted. I don’t know what is it talking about is there anyone who has an idea about the same and can help me out with it?

You can try this out:

• First turn off the USB hard drive support and the SD Card reader as well.
• If there is a need then you can run the “AT ^ U2DIAG = 0” command with in hyper terminal and you will have to use xp for that because I have found that the vista and 7 are not having it.
• After that just connect the device to the tablet and name it to phone.apk.
• And then download apnmanager and create APN for the respected network.
• After that download app called quick settings as well and then Turn OFF wifi and then Turn on the 3G and after that you will get a 3G icon and now you can refer to the logcat app for further help.

Hey thanks for the solution hamsini I was finally able to get it work after trying your solution and now I am really felling happy, after reading the other suggestions I thought that I will not be able to get it work but then finally your solution helped me out. Anyways thanks to other as well for their help.
