Yes, I am also searching for doing the same. I have bought the new Sierra Mc8781 and I have tried to install this to the system. But when I have done this thing at thart time I get that BIOS is giving the error as unauthorized device installed. And when I tried with starting the notepad at that time it won’t start. I have to uninstall the card. Can here anyone suggest me for this. What can I do now?

Ok, I get your requirements over here. Can you here tell me that did you have tied with the replacing the VID/PID as mirrored, typing 9911 and 5668 in the mod_5100.rom?? if not then try with this, hope that this will really help you to resolve your problem??

Yes, I have also tried with this but there I found that this is still not working, giving the same error to me. While trying with this, I have trid with replacing the D1 12 03 10 as mirrored, typing 99 11 56 68,but BIOS can't authenticate MC8781's VID&PID And for your information here is the authentication VID&PID::

For that reason, I think that you will need to look in to the ACPI module: MISCER00.ROM. I am telling you this think because I have also tried with the same thing and in the ACPI module only I found the whitelist value for the Lenovo's WWAN VID/PID. Try to check on this, and hope that you will get the proper way for adding 3g+GPS minicard module. Reply me back if this helps in your case.

I have still not getting the reason that why I am not getting the suggestion about doing this thing. I am still not getting that why the MC8781 cannot pass the whitelist despite after putting its VID/PID on the whitelist??? And also I have tried with the SUBSYS ID too that will help to cause the error to appear. When I checked for the Only mod_5100.rom then there I found that this have the list for the Wi-Fi WWAN, and the TV tuners. I can see there that they all are located in the next to each other, just separated by ff.

Yes, I also have bought the same thing. And there I am not able to get the other hardware ID. And for that reason, I will say over here that I don’t think that USB compliant mini pci-e devices have SUBSYS ID as well and also I am sure over here that all the approved devices on that slot do not have SUBSYS IDs. I am sure about this all thing because I have seen in the so many forums that the users are saying that they are able to completely disable the whitelist by looking for F9EB01F8 near the whitelist and changing F9 to F8. And I have tried with this also, but this is not working for my case.

Re: Help to hack the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 bios for deleting hardware whitelist

I checked for that and there I found that MOD_5100.ROM, found one instance of F9EB01F8 way before the whitelist. And I am thinking that if possible to change it to the F8EB01F8, then it will be the able to disable the check. But here, I am not having the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3T right now, so I will try with this after I will get this. And here, I will say to you that I am not sure that the same as what the users in HP forums say to our Lenovo BIOS. And now this is different from merely changing the VID/PID. Actually I saying this all things over because I am little confused about this. Please suggest me some steps for doing this thing.
