Need tethering settings for unrooted HTC vivid and how to conserve battery while using HSPA+

HI, i am planning to use tethering on my vivid thus please let me know the configuration settings for the device but still i am not sure how to do that.

Together with this i have heard that while we make use of HSPA+ in the device it just consumes more and more battery is correct? If so then please let me know how to conserve battery while using HSPA?

i am not sure about the tethering settings but still as far as battery consumption is concern, i would say there are several ways of conserving the battery and have a good battery life. Thus i would like to recommend you some of the way.

    • As you have mentioned that’s you use HSPA+ net work for accessing internet thus off course you’ll be making use of internet based application for sure, istn it? So make sure you should not used it for more time, because there isn’t any such way of conserving the battery rather you need to avoid using those application for more time.

    • While you make use of any such application make sure you have closed it perfectly after using it or else it will keep running in background so that also keep consuming the batteries.

    • Some other factors are, WIFI, 3G and Bluetooth. You should always keep them switch off if they are not in use.

    • Avoid making use of third party application as they consumes more battery.

    • After that always use minimum brightness in your mobile.

see you can make use of this settings as mentioned below as i have used the same with my inspire and works very well.

    Code:
Name: Media Net (if your 1st locked APN is named Media Net, then just name this one Media Net2 - this name in this field isn't important as long as it's unique)
    APN: Phone
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0 (this option might not be in your APN, so don't worry if you don't see it)
MCC: xxx (Don't change this number)
MNC: xxx (Don't change this number)
APN type: defaultadminhipri (there are no spaces between the words and the commas)
    APN protocol (if applicable): IPv4
    Everything else: <Not set>

though i am agree with the above user but still This doesn’t let you use LTE 4g while doing tethering. After adding this APN it kicks you to the HSPA+ 4g.

But this is an easy way to create an easy way to switch between LTE and HSPA+

you must have mis-configured the settings in the mobile, but first of all let me know which kind of service you are using with the phone, i mean to say in which way you are trying to connect the phone, through the WIFI or USB or though Bluetooth?

Assuming as you must be using WIFI hotspot thus make sure you are entering the Wi-Fi password correctly. And If the device cannot notice your Wi-Fi network, confirm your device name.

If you are using Bluetooth for the same then make sure the device is set to be Discoverable or else you might be just trying to connect but it will not connect however.
