Motorola's user’s statement on ICS upgrades

With the Motorola Atrix 2 just coming out a week before and distributing fundamentally identical guts with the Droid Bionic, I’m holding out expectation that it will be added to the list of devices to obtain the ICS upgrade. If I don't obtain verification on that in the next three weeks then I will be punctually returning my cell phone for another device. Too, if it's not added, I'll not at all purchase another Motorola device as long as I live.

For confident you have not anything to complain about, you convinced have the newest and greatest edition right now like it is affirmed before. We had to wait five months for a authorized update and even that is not extended to wait for. With any fate, we will see one more by February to March. It also could be most horrible; a lot of users in Europe are still on Froyo....

Is all advertising, you have to build your fresh stuff sellable and production wise it doesn't make intelligence to comprise the older devices even the Motorola A2. RAZR and Droid are flag ships. Motorola Atrix 1 and 2 are not, but that's not to say we won't obtain it small after them.

AT&T for all time seems to lag at the back with the updates. The producers release must meet the principles and requirements of the carrier before the transporter will release an bring up to date. Verizon may have supplementary Motorola mobile phone than AT&T, but they are unquestionably not the only transporter who will suggest the official improvement to ICS.

Not by any means and it's not like it's an old machine, it's just a half old and a week. And with its specs it's without difficulty a superior end device. With sales of the Motorola A2 less than stellar you'd wait for that Motorola would desire to do somewhat to boost sales of not simply the flagship devices but also the devices like the Motorola A2 that are under pressure with sales (bad advertising campaign???) and have a great deal broader market diffusion and appeal due to the magnificent specs and tremendously low price. Sounds like a win and win to me. Truthfully, I think this complete circumstance has much extra to do with the individuality deal between Motorola and Verizon than something else.

Nope, what I'm discussing is that no matter what potential buyers you have for a latest device that is not will extra than likely purchase the present one that will have the similar features (in this case Operating System). I don't memorize Google releasing (authoritatively) Operating System before their chief device sporting it. Seem, at the end of the day, we can go reverse and forth on why/why don't they do it more rapidly, but they eventually choose when it is fitting for them. As for the community, they will obtain it done whenever it's prepared. We actually don't have the right to requirements from them when the majority of these awesome guys don't obtain paid a penny for their hard work.

I don’t recognize why users obtain this way about updates - the Motorola Atrix has previously received three updates from the time when release. It's known that mainly devices only get one Operating System update - two if they're blessed. I guess if you’re not happy with what you have, find somewhat that you will be glad with.

I do consider that custom ROMs are great, just not uninterested of my Motorola Atrix as it is. When I purchase a cell phone I presently desire it to work like is theoretical to, and that it does very fine. We all have dissimilar takes and they are all valid. I came from a N900, which I appreciated, and when the time came I installed Froyo on it. When the time comes, I'll do the similar with my Motorola Atrix. That's all.

I was having a couple problems that GB had arrange out. But preceding to GB I didn't want to let loose, and then not be capable to use the guarantee. Lately I haven't done much of anything to my phone, so to figure out to unlock it and ROM it, is just something I don't really have much time for. Plus, I don't want to twist for myself on getting OTAs. Also I entirely have the same opinion - once they obtain the cell phone rooted and the boot loader not closed, it will be an *remarkable* cell phone. apologetic about bursting your bubble on the boot loader fellow, but several of the innovative people coming over from extra phones might not understand that *rooting* is only one part of the course and the locked boot loader can be a difficulty if you're not aware of its continuation.

No doubts, it's good to know. I'm one of those noobs for myself. I was type of spoiled with my Samsung X10, which my son supervised to break on just four days, we now had to root the obsession, didn't have to confusion with the boot loader just to achieve root admission and install custom rooms. The merely time open the boot loader was wanted was if you required to UC or OC. I don't have a difficulty open my boot loader, I just expect the procedure isn't one that involves adb as I have not had to make use of it yet and don't be acquainted with a lot about it.
