Toshiba satellite p505d-s8935 laptop won’t power up

HI, I have Toshiba satellite p505d-s8935 laptop which is 2 months out of warranty and is not powering up.

About a week ago it demonstrated the following symptoms.

1- Once doing a restart, the screen stayed black and other than the power light button, and display for power, battery, and power adapter, not anything would light up.

2- The keyboard lock keys such as for caps, number lock flashed but instantly went out. The HDD or fan could be heard to rotate for a instant but not anything else
    .

I was not sure what could be the exact problem but still I have tried each and everything known to me. Anyways it is still not running however, any suggestion for resolving this would be appreciated.

first of all make sure whether the battery is deed or what, because though you have started getting such problem you should keep powering up the machine, or else the battery will be affected mainly and which will cause the laptop to not to start.

From which day you have started getting problem with your machine? Because if you haven’t charged it ever from that day, then surely there could be some problem with the battery for sure. Try to charge it first and then look out for other fixes.

this could be quite ancient technique but still works with many laptops and would like to suggest you the same as eliminate the battery from the laptop and after that depress the power on button after sometime as it will help discharge and electricity left, after doing this place the batter back and Power it on.

If the lights just blink after that press and seize the battery button for force a shut down next power it back on. I have this happen while the battery was low down and it went into a standby mode and couldn't appear out of it due to low battery and this helped.

Re: Toshiba satellite p505d-s8935 laptop won’t power up

The laptop appears to be dead only if,

    • You plug the AC adapter but the LEDs that’s power light, hard drive light, battery charge light, etc do not light up and the laptop will not respond at all if you depress on the power push button.

    • While you plug up the AC adapter the power LED and the battery charge LED glow up. while you depress on the power key the laptop powers up but will not initiate.

    • While you push on the power button, the laptop compose a series or short and long beeps and will not start up. Generally you’d not see any video on the screen.

    • When you start the laptop It sounds like the laptop is booting usually but there is no video on the display.

    • You start the laptop and it begins making recurring clicking noise or crushing sound.

    • The laptop starts usually but video on the screen has lines, some odd characters or additional imperfections

Though you have mentioned but it would be more perfect if you mentioned the problem precisely.

    • reset CMOS

    • powering up without battery

    • discharging power current in laptop by holding power button for a good bit without plug or battery

    • removed the RAM and reinsert it.

First of all in this situation makes sure the AC adapter, as here you can examine the output voltage by means of a voltmeter. If you cannot do that, discover a recognized good AC adapter and utilize it for testing the laptop. It is probable that the laptop come into view being dead because the AC adapter is bad and the battery is completely drained. If you be familiar with that AC adapter is working correctly and it outputs accurate voltage but the laptop is still dead, most possibly you have a power issue on the motherboard and it has to be replaced for sure no matter from where you got it replace.

If you have to put back the AC adapter, ensure you exercise a accurate one. The output voltage must be precisely the similar as on the original adapter. The output amperage has to be the similar as on the original adapter or superior, but not inferior.

I have tried everything that you have mentioned, but still nothing appears to be work for me.

Anyways as I have mentioned previously that my laptop is already out of warranty, thus in any case if there is some hardware problem then is it worth to buy newer hardware from support center only? Thanks for above suggestion.

though you have done everything but still you should try to get it to service center and let them see what happened actually to your machine. Because there could be any reason that can cause such a troubles with the machine.

And off course if there is any need of buying any new hardware than you must have to buy it from the company only, because here you’ll get many benefits as first of all whichever hardware you are about to get would be 100% original and you’ll get warranty for that hardware only.

And if suppose there is only need of servicing the laptop then also service center is the best option, though you’ll pay more but still you’ll quality service to your product.
