Only SMS but no GSM call for Acer Iconia A501

Hello friends, I just received my A501 for a few days and I noticed that the SMS function on it. I know it is rarely used on a table to make calls, but I have a curiosity why the SMS function is possible honeycomb, but no GSM calls? According to many places, GSM calls are not compatible with honeycomb and therefore cannot be easily implemented in the honeycomb tablet, but correct me if I'm wrong, I do not think SMS is compatible with honeycomb well.
