nokia X1-01 having poor antenna and software’s not working

I have recently purchased a Nokia X1-01 mobile phone from near mobile store. I bought this phone because it was falling in my budget and I always prefer nokia phones only. But this time I think I made a mistake. I would say that from the initial day of purchase I am facing some or another problem with it. The antenna of the phone is present but it is just for the sake of antenna. It is very poor. This is a dual sim phone and the functionality is very poor too. My phonebook only shows some contacts while sending messages. There are many similar sorts of software issues with this phone. When I play some music, I see that the phone gets hanged and then I have to restart it to make it alright. Also Sometimes even while reading messages my phone hangs. I don’t know what to do? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would like to know that when did you purchase this device? I hope as you have mentioned that you have purchased it recently then I assume your phone must be in warranty period. So I would say that you should better get the phone replaced or get a new one. I think the problems that you’re saying are not less. One or two problems are understood but so many problems are not justified. I would say that go to the dealer from where you had purchased the phone and give him back. Tell them the issues that you are facing. I suppose that the device that you are having is a faulty one. Till now I haven’t heard so many problems in one device.

I think you should sell off this phone. If you don’t want to sell the phone then you can get it repaired. I would say that go to any mobile shop and ask the technician to help you out. They are experts and they will rectify each issue of yours. If the problems persist then better sell the phone and purchase a new one.

Well this phone that you have is a recent new phone. So being a new mobile it is quite expected that the phones has to have some or other problems. But I would say that on antenna part you can do nothing. Whereas other problems that you have mentioned looks to be software issues. I would say that wait for some time and let the software update come. The software update will fix all these issues as far as I suppose. I also had some problems with my nokia phone, it was new and there were no much information related to that. I got an update I installed it in my phone and all my issues had got resolved. I hope your issues too get resolved.

I would say that make a complaint against the phone to the nokia. Always remember more complaints nokia gets, faster and sooner they will act and release the update. Well I am facing some few common problems as you have mentioned. I also have a nokia X1-01. I have taken my phone to the nokia care. They helped me out but I still have some problems. In my phone, signal of one sim goes off in my phone. I am not sure whether this problem is with the sim, phone or firmware. I don’t know what is happening.

I would say that if you are having issues with sim card then it is better you contact the operator instead of the nokia guys. Ask the operator about the issue. Then if they say then you can proceed to the nokia service center or gallery. I would say that format your phone once and see what happens. I hope this resolves the problem.

I would like to know that which software version you are having on your phone? Try to install the previous version that you had before. I have heard that latest software version 5.37 for X1-01 is going to come in September 2011. I think after installing this version your issues would get solved.

I bought the phone on 1st Sept. It is giving problems from day 1. I am very frustrated with this phone.

1. The phone often looses signal on either sim. Sometime it looses the signal on both the sims, then the only solution is to restart the phone.
2. The phone get hang while opening Inbox, and contacts.. then the solution is to pull out the battery and restart the phone again.
3. The phone eats the battery quickly when you are in a weak signal area.. cos it struggles in searching the network.

Overall this phone hangs and restart a lot, even if you are using a single sim.. Its firmware was version is 5.27

I upgraded the firmware to v5.34 on 21st sept. But all the problems with this phone still persists, like
1. hanging while opening contacts,
2. inbox keeps on opening and never opens,
3. 'No sim Card' on sim1 even when the sim is there,
4. The phone is stuck before welcome logo when restarted,
5. loosing of signal on both the sims etc..
Now i am looking forward for v5.37. That will be my last attempt to get rectify this phone. Otherwise i will never buy a nokia phone in future.

The best option that you have right is now is of selling the phone. There have been many complaints regarding this phone in the past. I have myself heard about many. You can try out looking for this in some forums. I am sure this thing would have been discussed over there. This phone ahs undoubtedly dropped the name of the nokia. It is brand name which has been affected by such productions.

I think the handset you are having might have different or exceptional problem. Lots of Nokia phones I had used and never faced these type of issues. but I will go on Your query and find out the reason behind it.
