T-Mobile G-Slate became too slow after 3.1 update

I am using T-Mobile G-Slate and I think it has got nice features but now it has became too slow. Recently, I updated it to 3.1 and now it has became more sluggish than it was. Now, to appear home screen icons, it takes one or two seconds and it takes even more time for keyboard to disappear after I finish typing. I was not experiencing this when I was at 3.0. So, I think it is because, I updated it to 3.1. Is there is anyone else who is experiencing same after updating to 3.1?

I have also downloaded 3.1 update on my G-Slate but, I am not experiencing any difference in the response time of this tablet. But, if it is with you then try to reboot your G-Slate and see if you can see any difference in its response time. I think it will again become normal when you reboot it.

Thanks for your reply. Now, I am little worried about this problem. I was thinking that this issue will be with everyone, who has updated to 3.1, but if you are not getting such issue then I think I got problem with my G-Slate. As, you said, I have already rebooted it many times but. I was also thinking that it will be fixed after rebooting but it is still that slow. Do you have any other solution for this? If you have any solution, then please reply.

Do you have installed any app recently. If you have installed any app then I think it might be the reason for the issue with your device. So, I will suggest you to remove that app, and check your G-Slate after that. I think it will become normal then.

I think my G-Slate also has became little sluggish. Specially because when I try close any of my app then it takes about two to three seconds to get close. And I also feeling that the screen is taking more time to response

I always prefer to do a factory reset every time after making a major update. I will suggest you also to do a factory reset. I think this will work. Or, I also think that any recently installed app can also be the reason for this issue. So remove all the suspicious apps that you have installed in your G-Slate.

Now, I have uninstalled some apps ( some of them are Dolphin hd HD and Talking Tom). Now, I can see that the issue I was experiencing with my phone is became is solved, not completely, but solved at some extent. Now its response time seems to be little better. But, still I can see that sometimes to unlock it or wake it up I have to press power key for multiple times.

After my initial upgrade I noticed that there was dalvik cache being updated. If any of you still noticing that after the first hour of initial upgrade then I will surely suggest you to either remove some apps that appears to be running as background process or simply do a factory reset. It will surely solve all related issues.

I also uninstalled some apps and now my phone is better than how it was before. But it is not fixed completely it. I still have the problem with auto correct. Now I have started to use thumb keyboard and it is pretty good. I will also try to do a factory reset now. I am just hoping that it will work.

Now, I am experiencing a visible improvement in the response time of my G-Slate. So now I have agreed that the problem was because the apps that I had installed before. So, anyone having such issues then try to remove all the suspicious apps.

After doing factory reset, my G-Slate is working fine but now I have lost all my apps because, I didn’t wanted to back up them on the Google servers.

Why you don’t want to back up your data on Google servers? By the way, if you don’t want to do back up on Google servers, then from next time when you are doing a factory reset then use a file manager to backup all your apps. If you want then you can also use a file manager like ASTRO. Then you will not lose your important apps after doing factory reset.
