blackberry 8900 stuck while entering MEP code.

Hi, I am using blackberry 8900 from last couple of months and it was just useless before sometimes as I was using another one but when I start it yesterday for the first time It was actually locked and thus I have to enter the code for unlocking it.

But the problem is like whenever I try to enter MEP code for the mobile it just gets hanged. And really as this is happening for the first time I am no able to even figure out what could be the problem.

Need suggestion how can I unlock my mobile?

I think there must be some problem in your mobile’s firmware, I mean to say as you have mentioned that you haven’t used it from too long this it might be possible that the phone firmware must be corrupted, or there might be some problem with the firmware which is unknown to us. But at this moment the only option left is to reset firmware of your mobile so that you can enter the code. And I don’t think there could be something stored in the phone, but if suppose there is any content which is important then you can make a backup of those content to any other device, because though soft resetting the device will not lose the data but hard resetting wiped out all the data from the phone for sure.

have you ever contacted your network operator? Because see they are the only people who can in help you with providing the code through which you can unlock the mobile.

Thus if you haven’t done it yet then you should try that first, and it is strongly recommended that don’t use any code which is mentioned across any website because this codes are actually unique for each BB device, thus you cannot use the one which is actually intended for another device.

I was also having the same problem with my mobile though it is not blackberry but I hope the suggestion I am about to give you will surely work for you.

Whenever we enter the MEP code for the mobile to unlock, it just starts process the code and by mistakenly when we enter the wrong code it just do the thing which it supposed to do and when it doesn’t meet the requirements, it just stuck device there only, and showing that it is keep processing.

Thus from here we can say that you should try to make sure that the code that you are entering is perfectly ok and you can simply verify the code as well. and while entering it, don’t forget to mentioned “0” as well, because sometimes it is needed.

There are too many website are also to help you with such unlocking. See these codes are actually generated according to the IMEI number that we provide and accordingly we get the code, but be aware as there are too many websites that gives such a codes for free rather some of them charges for the same.

If suppose you are still having the same problem with the device then I think you should try to update the firmware that is been installed in the mobile, because when we reset the firmware it just solves almost each and every problem in the device but after that the last option that’s remains is to update the firmware in your mobile.

I am not sure whether it will going to help you or not but still you should try to contact to nearest blackberry store as they can also help you to unlock your device. as you have to give your IMEI number to them and they will provide you the code.
