How to connecting Samsung GalaxyS2 to laptop.

I am having an android phone Samsung Galaxy s2 when I first bought the phone I was able to connect it via router since then whenever I typed my IP address in the browser my laptop prompted me with the error that the address was not recognized. I have made a check that the IP address of the laptop is same through the command ipconfig in the command window and it was fine. I have already turned off the Norton Firewall but that didn’t help me at all. Guys I am looking to hear it from you if any one of you is facing the similar problem also if you have resolved the problem successfully. Thanks in advance.

I have seen this problem in some post before but no possible solution was found the thing I can suggest you that your phone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot and try making connection with your laptop to your phones through the Wi-Fi see if it works that way. Kies is Garbage so you don’t need to use it. I think Wi-Fi is the possible solution though it might be a little slow but I think this is the only possible solution for now.

well you are right saying in that. I am able to connect my phone as a portable hotspot but I still can’t figure out that why I cannot connect rather than using the Wi-Fi router. I am looking further for the help I know it’s a tough problem but I guess there must be some solution. Guys do provide with some further suggestion So that I could resolve the problem in my way. I have tried several options but that didn’t help me either. I am positively looking for some solution. There must be some.

Well your problem is genuine one thing you can do is that try this you must always use http:// and don’t just input the IP Also do remember one thing that it is not necessarily the same IP all the time. Check this if it can resolve your problem I guess It will also do let me know if it had created any problem further So that I can further provide you assistance as I want to figure out if this the exact problem you are facing.

I would like to advise you to read the Galaxy s Forum for the tips and tricks on the topic of navigation and setting up your Galaxy Phone. Check It as I think this might resolve your problem. Also at the place after where you typed the IP address just that is http://youripaddress/ extended with this www/apps/KiesAir/main.gz.htm. Do make a check for this. This has worked for me and hopefully this will work for you as well. Also do let me know if you further need any assistance.

Your IP address for your gs2 is probably dissimilar to when you first you were able to manage to connect. Navigate into your wireless settings and make the selection of router. This will let you know what address your router has allotted to the GS2 address let’s say for example 192.178.1.104 The URL you previously connected with is most likely has changed to something like this 192.168.1.105:8080 that is the 104 is now 105. (This is just the exemplification). Make an amendment in your browser and you will be through.
