Is it possible to recovery from usb to a new SSD disk using Sony Vaio VPCYA1V9E?

I have recently bought this Sony Vaio VPCYA1V9E laptop and now I want to recover the data present on the USB flash drive. I need to insert this data on the SSD drive disk. If i try to backup data files from USB to SSD, then it goes to a blue blank window among just the mouse cursor viewing and no activity after that. I hope many users will already do such kind of task.
