need to add new ringtones, using iTunes.

Hey hi, I am using iTunes 7.5 and iPhone firmware 1.1.2. in the USA still users are waiting for the version 1.1.2 but they are not able to find them. after combination are good for it but I want to transfer some of the MP3 songs using the iTunes for transfer the songs. So can anyone suggest me what to do now? I have some problem using this software, if you have knowledge about it then please tell me how to download the MP3 songs to my iPhone.

I am not sure to if someone have shared this, but like the audio distinction in iTunes, ringtones are same as them. The audio files in the iphone have the extension of M4R file. To add the ringtone to your iPhone there are several steps given as:
i will suggest you To add a new ringtone to your iPhone, using Windows Explorer, mozila firefox or the Finder just duplicate and rename any AAC file to be "M4R", then double-click on it. This file will be added to your iTunes library automatically.
after that i will suggest you to click on your iPhone and move to the ringtone category in iTunes, You will need to watch and listen your latest ringtone files which are incerted there at that time. If you are not sure with that the sync process then you are free to feel free to click "selected ringtones" and try to make off the file explicitly, though this shouldn't be neccesary.
after the sync process, restart your iphone and enjoy with listening your ringtone.

According to me, its intentional. Actually with the Apple it doesn’t have the choice for the ringtone support. In the Apple, ringtone are considered as the different right, so they need to pay separately. But once done with creating the provision on the system then you can easily make your own ringtones on the iPhone, same as you do with the Audio book. I think if you are able to convert the ringtone to M4R format then it will supported by iPhone.

My guess for the iToner up to point, using apple script or something else, they sync the ringtone to the iTunes format. The whole process is done on the background of the system. It have its own extension in iTunes. You can check on the windows file for the same extension. There's NOTHING that says Apple can't permit users to take gain of the hooks in their system, so long as Apple is answerable for them really doing it

According to me, the question is that, why should apple not make the sense for these format in the iTunes library? If you thinking same then read their explanation for the iTunes purchased music. It says that they do not want to use the right holders for selling the songs to be used. But they don’t explain over there why they are not adding the definition of the ringtone to there iTune library. It might happens that they want to make money from the ringtones.
