Battery fits very loose on Lenovo ThinkPad X220

Hi I am using Lenovo ThinkPad X220 and I have heard that whenever we got any problem with the laptop we should remove the battery and reinsert it after some time, and because of that only the case became too loose so the battery doesn’t fit well in the case. So what we can do next, I mean to say is there any fix through which we can adjust the battery as it was previously. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

You should first of all make sure that the locked is broken or the notch in battery is broken. Because see if there is some damage in the case itself, so with no other option you must have to change it for sure. Because there is always a lock through which the battery hooked up with the laptop. So if that is damaged then you cannot do anything with it rather you need to buy a new case for sure.

I am agree with the above user as you should get the new battery for testing whether there is some problem in the battery hook or in the laptop case. And till that you can have option to work with the help of external battery, or you can directly charge it with the power supply outlet. But still I would say this is very bad as you often remove the battery because after that this is the obvious thing.

See now you can have two options as either you need to get the new case or the battery for the laptop or you can fix the battery in such a way that you cannot remove it ever, by pasting it through the clue or through similar adhesive. but before doing this, make sure that you’ll not be able to remove it ever after adjusting it such a way or by purchasing any of the thing you need to pay more.

Hey thanks for the complimentary advice as it was really helpful, because after seeing the comments I checked the case and the lock is broken there only, rather my battery is perfectly alright and thus I am planning to have a new case for the thinkpad and but I don’t know from where can I get this case, do I need to order it or will get it from the local hardware peripheral shop as well? Any more suggestion?

Yeah off course you can order it from internet and get it from the shop as well but still if would like to suggest you that if you are not aware about the hardware design you should not do this on your own rather you should hire a expertise person who know about the hardware, in fact if you just contact to any such person he will let you know the address as well from where you can get the case.

I am agree with the above user but still I would say if suppose the laptop you have is beneath the warranty period you should not waste the time rather visit the service center because they would provide you the better case for the laptop. Rather I would say you may get the original case from the service center. So off course if you purchase a case from the outside that doesn’t make any sense, though you need to pay more you’ll get better product from there.
