    Overheating with Toshiba x505-875s

Hello, I have a laptop from Toshiba x505-875, I bought it around May and I am unable to use any high end graphics programs. My system shuts down due to over-Heating whenever I try to use any such high end graphics programs. I have installed custom cooler Fans 2 450CFM powering to a wall outlet. I have done the inbuilt diagnostics but to no avail, been to some tech sites n forums but still waiting for a reply. Kindly help me out guys.

I think you’re facing an issue with heat sink and built-in fans. I too had the same issue while playing 3D games on my laptop, but by just merely replacing the heat sink by sending it to Toshiba authorized repair facility my issue got resolved. My system was not under warranty so I had to pay for the Replacement but it seems nothing to what I have gained in return “Peace of mind”. Hope this may solve your issue.

Try cleaning the dust which gets accumulated between the blades of the fan by blow drying it, Accumulated dust reduces the air intake which in return causes the system to overheat. If problem still persists and your system is still under warranty get the (GPU) Graphics Processing Unit replaced. I think this might sort out your issue as there is no solution to this issue available on the official website of Toshiba regarding the overheating of its laptop

I would like to inform you guys that I too had bought Toshiba x505-875 in mid January and was facing the same issue of overheating and then powering off, I did every possible thing to check the overheating issue but I failed in the end, later I bought a new Qosmio x505-q880 and guess what it has no overheating issues no matter what you play or run. Conclusion: Toshiba x505-875 has some kind of built in issues.
