mSata SSD not detected on Lenovo ThinkPad X220

I have been having some problem in this my new Lenovo ThinkPad X220 which has an Intel i7 chip, but, I am not been able to find a fix for, this I mean the msata ssd is just not recognized in the Lenovo X220 , through it has a support for Usb 3.0 and works even been when connected with the SSD drive , so here is what I have so far found out .I think that is not a major problem here , but then I would like to fix it .any help is appreciated .

Hey mate, this could be a problem that is possible caused by the an fault ssd drive, so just try changing it and also try it on other laptop as that might help you to see the msata drive is really working or no , here is what I have done so far , and got mine working , you can go to the bios setting by pressing e1 and then press f9 to load the default setting and then press f10 to save the default settings ,I guess that might just help you out .

It is pretty weird that you are facing such problem , I have been staying in Germany and brought my laptop from France as I used to work there , for a week ., after that I have found out that it was not really possible to for me to update this . so I used the AHCI mode in the bios setting which is the default mode in it , other than this ,I previously had the bios defaulted to UEFI mode so after changing that It seems that both are working just fine ,although I have tried this on my friends laptop

Hey , I think I also have a similar problem the here ,I used to test the same with the help of the msata drive that came with the Samsung 9 th series laptop and the seemed to work with it , but , when I tried the same with the Lenovo x220 , I was not been able to fix that , I tried to load it in the deafualt mode ,also but , was not been able to make it appear , I think that is the problem that is more over realted to the bios setting s of the laptop ,

I think you are right this could be possible be a problem with the bios setting that you system has as that might just be possible as , but , I have gone a step further and tired out every bios that was available until the last 1.16 update , as till now nothing seemed to worked on this , and the question of the msata drive not working is out of question so this is the problem that is more over related to the bios only , I haven ‘t searched for this out and I guess there many more out there who are having same problem .

Hey guys I have figured out the problem here, I have not been able to use this one but somehow I was able to catch hold the a Lenovo expert and he told me that this was a bios problem which could be solved with the help of new bios setting s that were available namely bios 1.18 and 1.19 which are just been released by the company to support the the new msata ssd that is thee , so I just that fix your problem .

hey, that just worked for me , I mean I was just left pondering my bios system when I saw my msata hard drive got detected by it , I would rather like to have some sort of security with it but , I am not been able to see the same bios before ,I just don ‘t know why , as the last bios update that I saw was 1.16 , after that there was not public update that was there but however the updates 1.18 bios updates surely works for me .
