Asus Eee PC 1002HA Keyboard failure and replacement

I have Asus Eee PC 1002HA. While working on I am drinking cup of coffee by mistake cup slipped from my hand an dropped over keyboard of my netbook. I left it for some time to get dry. After complete drying of netbook keyboard I started it again what I see is that some keys of netbook are not working properly. All top line buttons of keyboard are not working. I just took out the keyboard to clean remaining coffee and sugar from it. Can it is possible to replace the keypad of it with other one. Please tell me list of compatible keyboard which can be replaced.

Yes you can replace your keyboard with other one. I replaced my Asus 1000H keyboard with chiklet keyboard. To get perfectly fitted into space it requires some modification which can be done by cutting of lower location tabs after doing this it gets fitted and perfectly settled over the block. And it’s working perfectly for me now. The keyboard for Asus Eee pc series was made by company megatron. So you can check it over internet to get branded one.

You dropped cup of coffee over your keyboard it may create problem to circuit of keyboard there for I think your keyboards some keys not working. If your laptop has keyboard protector so you can’t face such a problem. You can go to the vendor shop to check whether there was any problem regarding this. Yes you can replace your keyboard with other one you can buy it from hardware stores or search online stores for second hand used or new keyboard for your model 1002HA. Buy this keyboard will solve your issue it available.

Thanks for providing details and helping me. One of the posters above has suggested that I have to replace it with a chiklet keyboard but it needs some modification I don’t want to make modification to my laptop. I just want to replace the keyboard. So now I have to check whether it has any problem in circuit of keyboard and find used or new keyboard of same model which can successfully fit in the body of keyboard space.
