This strong growth is related to the explosion of mini-segment of cheap laptops (or netbook), while PC sales are beginning to be affected by the global economic slowdown. The American HP remains the world's No. 1 PC with 18.4% market share in the third quarter, against 18.3% last year. Dell is in second place but saw its share rise from 14.1% to 13.6% in one year. Acer is distinguished with an increase of nearly 50% of its sales. The Taiwanese manufacturer has even dethroned HP in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Strengthened by the acquisition of Packard Bell, Acer wins 20.6% of PC sales in the region, against 16.1% a year ago.

Slow down in world sales of personal computers, especially with regard to netbooks and notebooks. To say this is the data published by two research firms, Gartner and IDC, for the third quarter of 2010. According to Gartner analysts, the blame, at least in part, is the tablet, the tablets intelligent that in many cases have replaced the PCs in consumers' purchasing priorities. Needless to say, the number one appears to be responsible for the iPad, which has slowed while sales of laptops and netbooks (others), the other gave a big hand to his Mac As for the American market In fact, the last three months have seen Apple's emergence in third place in sales of computers.
