How to replace the keypad of Acer TimelineX 3820TG

Well I’m having an Acer TimelineX 3820TG. I’m using it from past 2 years where I had noticed that the keyboard key had stop working only few buttons in it is not working so I decide to replace it I’m having a backlit US 3810 keyboard. So can any guide me step by step to how to do that as I call the technical support center and they say me to visit to their service center but it’s really far so I had decided to do it of my own. Thanks in advanced.

You need someone help in the solder to some wire and make sure you don’t damaged your main board as no one will be responsible for it. Just look for 3810T backlit keyboards removing the keyboard by making use of Use a plastic tool and then just push in the holding clips. Do this Careful and do not force them up but you can do that while pulling it in. Lift up the keyboard and then just remove the keyboard connector and then just push the plastic clips which you will get on the connector upwards. The backlit keyboard is about 0.6 mm thick so it would need some bending of the tabs so that it gets fitted correctly. To fit it just cut out little plastic insert that fits inside the tab area where the keyboard. This will be going to help you when you are going to fir it later. Cut the plastic and then bend this down a bit it about 2mm and then solder on two thin wires to the LED power flex cable. Enfold the cables in electrical tape. If the volts is too much then the keyboard will get bright. And now you will need to remove all the screw which is below the keyboard plus back of the notebook. Seek a service manual for this if unsure.

Well I had done this and it did not affect my sound volume and the lights and they are not even flashing with the sound. The source should be flat or stable at the 3.5v it will turn off beneath the sleep mode and take cover and now like the USB 5v which I originally used. I had even tested the laptop beneath full load and with occupied volume it’s the same as before. No issue, I might have tap into the fan1 power other than I see this is more risky than the audio one. But I’m having the problem with the lower fan. Hope it work for you.

So I had appreciate even muting doesn't have an effect on the light. What about if de-activating the peripheral? If you deactivate the speakers maybe it will cut the power plus maybe through a little software tweak an application can activate and deactivate the peripheral mechanically. Which’s being cool if you need the extra 30 minute? Have you try seeing the UMTS module connecting to the motherboard has some sort of power. Well I must by doing that you will be going to void your warranty.

Well I want to ask is anyone having the manual for the 3820TG as I’m also planning to power the backlit keyboard and if there is there any unused plug which is having the power to that. And for that I think I need to get the female and male which will be going to plug-in from the socket and then solder it to the keyboard power ribbon which is having a jumper wire and it will going to solider near the motherboard components. All of the modification would be going to be done by the keyboard itself.

I think so that model doesn’t have a Bluetooth module and even the cable. Well I had readed about the bt 3.0 which is integrated with the wireless card .I don't think that it is having a UMT model. I want to ask whether the UMT installed in an Internal PC Express slot. Is there any chance that Acer is having the power which is already routed to a power or plug socket to the area that the UMT module is to be installed.
