Can we install symbian 60 OS to symbian 40's Nokia mobiles

Hi, I have bought a new Nokia x3-02 yesterday only, but after buying the phone I came to know that the OS version is s40 in my mobile, so I was little bit disappointed because of that, but after that I search the internet for getting any solution to this, I mean to say to install the S60 on the S40 phone’s, I am not sure that is it possible to do that but still I would say if there is someone who had done this, can share their view, and let me know how can I do the same with my mobile phone. Recently I am running the S40 5.65 version on my mobile.

Yeah that’s good idea as you are about to change the OS of your mobile, but even I am also little bit unsure about this, because both of the operating system works on the different mobile phones with their different specification I mean to say the phone that runs s60 OS has the CPU and the processor inside rather in the phone that runs s40 doesn’t have any CPU in the phone. So I think for running that we must have to have processor in the phone first.

I am wondering because I have seen this for first time as someone is really not happy with the current he has, because according to there are lots more little features that you’ll not get after installing S60 in your phone, like the I have heard that you have to use only phone memory, you can’t use the SIM card memory to store your contacts, after that text size is also too small in the s60, where as in s40 there is quite satisfactory space.

No I don’t think you can install the S60 software to your phone, because as the above user mentioned you must have to have the processor in your phone to install this operating system, but still I would like to tell you that as you are using the s40 5.65 version, you can download the latest 6.0 version for your mobile, and in that you can have more stability with different supportive functions. And lots more thing regarding the wireless network also added in that firmware. So I would suggest you to install that firmware.

I have heard that the niche s40v3 is extremely alike to s60 operating system. It has parallel active screen and menu formation same as s60 phone has. And if you talk about the similarity and differences in the phone, then I would say there are too many similarities rather than the differences, so I am not sure about the s60 but sure rely you can install the s40v3 in your cell and by the way S40 is quite better for the people, who want to do their work without any trouble and is faster than the S60’s.
