Sony NEX-3 has low shutter speed in iAuto mode

My cousin recently gave me Sony Nex 3 camera. It is small but very powerful and awesome camera. The only issue I am facing while using the camera is that it is showing low light conditions when I am trying to capture images in iAuto mode. I am unable to understand why the camera is selecting the lowest shutter speed. This issue occurs even when I am trying to take pictures in very low light conditions. What must be the problem with the camera? Does anyone know what possible I should do to solve the problem.

As you mentioned that the problem has started occurring recently and there was no such issue before, so I thing you must have done some settings in your Sony NEX-3 camera which might have caused the following issues in your camera. So, I will suggest you to go to your settings and check whether any changes were done in your camera settings or not. If you find any changes than just undo the settings back to the normal one or as per your choice and check whether the issue still exists in your camera or not.

A manual might have come along with the Sony NEX-3 camera, when you had purchase it. So, read the following manual of your Sony NEX-3 camera and check how to change the settings which you are looking for in this manual for your camera. Read the manual completely. If you are unable to find the printed manuals for your Sony camera than you should visit the official website of Sony and check for .pdf file or the printed manuals for the camera.

If you are unable to detect or remember any changes which you have done in your camera settings and you are still facing the same issue, then I would recommend you to reset your camera. You can reset the camera and its settings by just using the already given RESET button. Search for the Reset button in your camera and then press the following. Usually the reset button is very small and will be requiring a pointed object to press it. Once you have found the Reset button, press and hold it for few seconds. This will reset your camera.

    • Remove the battery of your camera.
    • Press and hold the POWER button to the camera position for 15 seconds and then mave it to OFF position.

You should visit the given link of the Sony Officials and contact the officials by sending mails to the given email IDs or by directly contacting them on their respective give number. If you don’t find this to be much helpful, then I would recommend you to search for Sony Stores in your nearby area on Internet and make an appointed to get your camera checked and repaired by the technical staff available in the Sony Store. It the camera is under warranty period then well and good for you.
