Motorola Droid 2 will not show correct timestamp on Voicemail

Hey guys, I have been using the Motorola Droid 2 mobile phone from last 3 weeks now. It has got android 2.2 Froyo installed in it. Today morning I received a voicemail and found it to be very unusual. When I pull down the notification bar, the voicemail is showing that it was received 2-3 decades ago. It is showing the wrong date and time even though the date and time in my device is correct. I am seeing the same issue in my text messages as well. Can anyone tell me the reason behind this and what I should do to solve the issue?

As you have said that you have recently started facing this issue, so I think this is a temporary issue which I happening in your Motorola Droid 2 mobile phone. So to solve these temporary issues, I would recommend you to turn off your mobile phone, remove the battery for a while and then reboot your system after some time. Check if you are facing the issue after your have rebooted your mobile phone or not.

I also faced similar kind of problems with my Android phone. The thing which worked for me was starting my mobile phone in Safe Mode and then checking out the status of the issue. If the issue is is solved while you are running the mobile in safe mode, then it is for sure that some third part apps might be the real reason behind this unusual behavior of your mobile phone. You will have to find the culprit app and completely get rid of the following app from your mobile phone.

Re: Motorola Droid 2 will not show correct timestamp on Voicemail

I appreciate the help which you provided me with. I went through the replies and performed as you have mentioned except the safe mode thing, as I did not know the exact steps of starting the mobile phone in Safe Mode. I did exactly what was mentioned in the very first reply to my thread and it did not changed anything. So now I wanted to know how to start my mobile in Safe Mode and is there any other way to change the time and date and correct the issue?

You should possible visit the official website of Android Market and search for some apps over there, which would make it possible to solve your problem. There are many free and paid apps available in the android market which can easily rectify the issue and provide you with the proper date and time on your received voicemail notifications and text messages. In paid version you will be getting some more extra features then the free version apps. One such I have come across is “Handcent” which is a free app. You can try the same.

Re: Motorola Droid 2 will not show correct timestamp on Voicemail

According to me Update your Motorola Droid 2 is not showing the correct timestamp on Voicemail because it might be outdated or the Firmware software installed in the mobile might be old. So, in this case, I would recommend you to search for Firmware update for your mobile phone and install the necessary updates for your Motorola Droid 2 mobile phone. You will be requiring the Motorola PC Suite for the same. Make sure that it is also the updated latest version.

I would recommend you to not to try updating the firmware of your mobile phone by yourself. As you are not very good with the mobiles and upgrading the mobile Phone’s Firmware, I would recommend you to take help of someone who is professional in that. Also, your mobile phone might be still under warranty period, so in this case, the best possible option for you will be to visit the nearest Motorola Service Centre and submit your cell phone there. The technical staff of Motorola will be able to solve your issue in a much better way.
