    Definitive folder structure of Android

I am using iPhone from past couple of months. Well I recently I have brought an Android phone. I am not aware of how Android phone are working and how is the folder structure of this particular phone. If I am looking for ringtone then it would be stored in the following location.
    Code:
    /sdcard/media/alarms
    /sdcard/media/notifications
    /sdcard/media/ringtones
Let me know if you are having any speculation on this particular matter. Thanks a lot in advance.

Well personally I am using the following four folders on the phone of mine. the thing might dependent on the Music player which you are using. However the operating system which you have installed on the phone of yours would see the folder Name.ogg files and it would make it available for the settings on the basis of the app.
    Code:
    /sdcard/Alarms
    /sdcard/notifications
    /sdcard/ringtones
    /sdcard/ui

Well I am agree with the thing which you have mentioned over here. I am using the default music player on the phone of mine and It did not search each and every folder on the SD card. According to me the Android Structure of the Android phone would be as follow.
    Code:
    /sdcard/media/alarms OR /sdcard/Alarms
    /sdcard/media/notifications OR /sdcard/notifications
    /sdcard/media/ringtones OR /sdcard/ringtones
    /sdcard/media/ui OR /sdcard/ui

I can help you out with the DCIM folder. Well it is a part of the DCF that is Design rule for Camera File system specification. All the digital camera would contain the Digital Camera Images into their root directory. Here you will have the multiple folders named nnnABCDE and nnn would be the unique directory number which would vaery from 100 to 999. Image files should be stored within folder would have the file name ABCDnnnn.

I think all these files should be into the SD card or media folder. There should be no media folder into the SD card. I have gone through on the system of mine it is should be
    Code:
    /system/media/audio
here you will have the following items
    Code:
    alarms
    /notifications
    /ringtones
    /ui
all the above folders are by defulat and it is generated into the .ogg files.
