Motorola droid X: cannot make call after GB update

After I ran the OTA GB update then I ran into the problem. After update, I found that I am not able to make calls from my phone. When I dial any number and press the call button then it looks like it is making calls but within few seconds it ends the call with the message “End Call”. This is not specific to any particular number. This is same for all the contacts in my phone. Please tell me that what can be the problem with this and how can I resolve this issue. I will be thankful to all the issues.

The first thing that you should do is to contact the service provider and ask them for the issue. I am saying these because 9 out of 10 times, the problem related to the calls are from the service side and not from the phone. So should be the first thing that you need to do to resolve the problem. If the problem is from the service provider side then they will tell you the exact reason that why are you facing the issue and also how can you resolve the problem. I wish you will be out of this soon.

I would try to delete the data in the application of marking Manage Applications> All Settings. If this does not work try to delete cache partition in the recovery of Android. You are able to also attempt running is safe mode and see if the problem resoles there. If it does than maybe a 3rd party application is causing the trouble. If all else be unsuccessful then you could attempt a factory reset of the data. That certainly would solve the problem. I had a similar problem where I lose all network connectivity apart from for wifi. It has been three times and all the times at night. The way you know there is a problem is that I get an error message saying the backup wizard cannot backup due to no network connection. I did not have 3G or 1x, had a white bar shows the status area, but could not make or receive a call. Restart the phone has been fixed three times this. I use the battery saving mode peak, the same that I used Froyo. This has started with the upgrade of gingerbread, never had this problem with Froyo. I made a clean cache, but did not restore a database from the factory.

If firmware within the phone is tarnished then as well you may acquire the difficulty similar to this. Does the phone is under warranty? I ask because if the phone is under warranty, then you have to do anything with the phone to solve the problem. Simply contact the dealer where you purchased it. If it helps, then that is fine, but if not to solve your problem, then you can contact the manufacturer and they will definitely solve the problem without any additional cost, since it is under warranty.
