Incorrect default RXVT-unicode (URXVT) in Google Chromebook

The default urxvt installed is actually odd as compared to what I typically utilize. Initially, it simply supports ASCII? I make out from `urxvt --help` it has every single one the multibyte encoding assembled in. I recognize how it must be configured, for the reason that I make use of urxvt absolutely. On the other hand, no matter how I arrange the font by the use of -fn switch, simply ASCII characters can be shown. Secondly, the color hold up is extremely outlandish. I cannot get 256-color support in my Chromebok? Does anybody know that solution for this?

I have also had the similar problem. I attempted '256colors2.pl', which you are able to download from different sources online. Through that, the usual 16 colors are exposed as predictable. Additionally, the foremost 2 6x6 color boxes are revealed properly amazingly, except the other four 6x6 color boxes and the grey slope are totally black. What makes it further attractive is that, still through a urxvt I opened from an additional server all the way through SSH X forwarding, the consequences are the identical as the from the indigenous urxvt. I think that there is something mistaken by the X server.

XTerm is extensively dismissed like “primitive,” except its abilities are essentially moderately complicated. It is straightforward to send away XTerm as prehistoric and feature-poor while you are utilized to gnome-terminal, KTerm, and additional graphical tabbed terminal emulators. The fact of the stuff, despite the fact that, is that XTerm is packed of functionality that a good number people not at all even become aware of.

With a number of limitations to "whichever" -- it will need a sensibly modern system to run effortlessly, counting operational 3D drivers. Not every one of platforms are allowed at the moment moreover, i.e. drivers (kernel as well as X) may not be configured in support of all hardware, and so on. Keep in mind that there are no administrator builds of Chromium OS, except there are some people who have been offering builds intended for pretty a moment.

Did altering the permissions on rxvt actually fix the trouble for you? Concerning being logged in, ensure that you weren't transient in additional options toward xterm. My xterm button utilizes the "-ls" case, which creates xterm to run a login shell, therefore I can notice myself inside the logged-in-users catalog. My older Debian system didn't have that; every single one xterms I ran were essentially at rest logged in like the user who began X, thus I was usually merely logged in on one occasion, since conflicting to the 8 times I'm logged in at this time.

I have never assumed that this kind of problem we will see in Google chrome operating system. if this issue cannot be resolved so then I will surely not going to buy any chromebook which has recently released. I just rely on the Thinkpad which I am currently using now. I heard that the Chrome is uses sone kernel or Linux commands to modify the settings. Whether it may be color or something else like your ASCII or URXVT. But I don’t know why it is not happening here.
