Touchpad scrolling not working Sony Vaio vpceb11fm

I am unable to scroll through touchpad on Sony Vaio vpceb11fm. I am having this system at my office which has Windows XP in it. I can use two fingers to scroll but it is not working. I have us the arrow keys for that. I am not having a usb mouse due to which this is very complicated. This was working before. But it stopped suddenly. Is there any settings to enable that. Where can I find those things. I cannot see anything in Control Panel.

By restoring the default settings of this laptop I think the problem will be resolved. For that you have to disable it and then enable it back again. Just arrange a usb mouse for this process. Right click on on My Computer > Manage. In that click on Device Manager and right click on the touchpad. Choose disable. Then again right click and enable it back again. The touchpad might start working.

If the above process does not work then you can try re-installing the touchpad. I think that will be also enough to resolve the problem. Just go in Device Manage and right click on the touchpad. Instead of turning it off choose uninstall. This will remove the hardware. Restart your pc and then wait back until windows try to install it on its own. You can run the driver disc if windows fail to install it.

There is a touchpad settings in control panel. This is much easier to find in Windows 7. Look in the system tray. See that you can find the touchpad thing in it. Right click on it and choose settings and modify the same as per your need. If you have a multi gesture touchpad then things are more easy. Because the touchpad support different finger support. If not and it is a regular one then you have to use it in simple way.
