Acer TimelineX 5820TG giving horrible 3DMark06 CPU Score

Guys I had brought this laptop some 3 months ago and really from the past few days it has been testing my patience. Well the thing is that when I had brought it new it was giving me some good fps results for games like NFS Hot Pursuit, Shift 2, Dead Rising 2. It was giving me some good fps results like 60 fps but now its performance has really become terrible. The fps rate has been dropped from 60 fps to 15 fps. I don’t know what has gone wrong with this laptop, it is really disappointing me a lot. So that’s why I have come here to seek some help from you guys. Please do advice me what should I do in such situations?

There can be many reasons behind low FPS. It can occur if you have kept high resolution while you were playing the game or if you having low resources like less RAM, less Graphic Card and storage space and other things. The game which you are talking about i.e. NFS Hot Pursuit, Shift 2, Dead Rising 2, usually requires a lot of hardware resource to meet its high requirements. So i would recommend you to first play those game in average to low resolution and to increase your RAM memory and your Graphic Card to improve the performance and the look and feel while you are playing those games.

I think the problem is with the graphic card itself and hence it is very necessary to mention about the graphics cards that you use. See you have to make sure that you post in all your configurations of the laptop so that we can get a better idea of which quality graphic card are you using it always helps us. So make sure that you keep this in mind next time. As of now I think there must be some sure problem with the graphic card and hence I think it is necessary to check for the drivers of the graphic card that you are using and install it in the system, I think that will be of good use for you.

Ok I will definitely make sure that I post in all the configurations of the laptop. Well I will surely want to post in the configuration now itself. Here goes the configuration
*Core I5 460M 2.5Ghz
*4GB RAM DDR3
*HD 640GB
*VGA Ati Radeon HD 5650 1GB
As you said I will definitely make sure that I install the necessary drivers for the graphic card but apart from that is there any other method that I can give it a try, if you have any then do let me know about it.

The 3DMark06 test that you are using have you ever tested it in different systems? If not then make sure that you do have a check at it and note down the results, there might be some problem with the testing software that you are using. See as of now what I can advice you is that do have a proper check of all the hardware’s that you have make sure that you have updated them with the necessary drivers for your system, so do have a look at that as well. Yes I have done that as well for your kind information, well I have tested the same software with the two different users and the test results that I got from there were quite interesting and it definitely shows that my system lacks somewhere. With the user 1 I got a cpu score of 2849 and with the user 2 I got a cpu score of 2776. So that’s a pretty exciting thing and with my test results the cpu score is only 1997. Which shows my laptop is really lagging behind. So now what you all have to say about the situation In which I am in right now.

Well that is really very sad to hear about that but one thing that you can definitely try out is that go for an up gradation with the new graphic card. If you have a restore point in your laptop then definitely go ahead with the clean installation however if you are not having that then do one thing make sure that you create a necessary back up of all the data that will do.
