How to install Ubuntu from internet on Dell mini 9.

Hello guys I have got DELL Mini 9 netbook as gift from my friend there is no issue with the netbook but main problem is Spanish Windows XP is installed on it, and I don’t like to use this Spanish OS on my netbook. I just need a free which also reliable OS for my netbook. I searched about it on internet and found that Ubuntu Netbook remix is the solution but for that installation I need a USB key for trial, is there any other way to install it without using the USB key.

Mate if you are concerned with saving the Spanish or the other OS installed on your netbook then you have to take care of some things else just go for the Ubuntu. Well you should be able to to install the Ubuntu directly to the drive of your netbook. And using a USB stick means without affecting the your current system you can trial the Ubuntu. And you can install the Ubuntu along with OS installed in your system as well as instead of that OS.

Thanks mate for reverting so quickly I thought I would hardly get any replies on this thread but here I got reply so quickly thanks for that. I don’t know much about these technical things but isn’t the download for a USB boot? Mate can you tell me from where can I download the straight installer to run in on my Windows Spanish OS. Please help me out if you have got any solution or the suggestions.

I think the above user is wrong, just download the wubi.exe and run it on the Windows, Wubi will not remove the installed OS on your drive. But Ubuntu can be affected by a virus which is for Windows. But still it’s useful. After running wubi.exe reboot your system and you will get options for the Ununtu and Windows. On wubi website you will find version for your netbook also hope that will work for you.
