Mobile camera can be connected with PC

I have many friends who are in different countries and I every week I‘d like to talk with them. I basically don’t have a webcam but I have a mobile phone i.e. LG T300 which has 2megapixel camera. So I would like to use my phones camera as a webcam for my PC so that I can see them when I talk with them using Skype. So is it possible to use mobile phones camera as a webcam? If yes, then can anyone show me how to do it?

Many people don’t have a webcams and so they use their mobile phones camera as a webcam and save on some cash and also to put mobile camera in better use. When you want to attach your phones camera as a PC webcam, you must connect your phone with data cable or by installing Bluetooth in your computer. Your phone should also have PC suite which should be installed in your system without which you cannot connect your phone with your computer. As soon as your phone gets connected with the computer, you can download an application such as “WWIGO (Webcam Wherever I Go)” and install it. This is a very small application which allows using your mobile camera as a webcam. After installation, go to your Program Files directory and then get the WWIGO mobile application. Transfer it to your mobile and install it. Now start both the PC and mobile WWIGO applications. Now select a GPRS access point in your mobile, and select Options > Connect. Select your PC as the Bluetooth device and let the PC and mobile WWIGO applications connect. Now you can use your phone as a webcam.

You can also use a good application known as “Mobiola Webcam”. It is the most popular webcam software for mobile phones. May be in your case, your phone does not support this application but if your phone supports J2ME, you can use the Mobiola Webcam Liter version. It runs on almost all J2ME phones. Just start the Mobiola application on your mobile and PC. From your mobile, select Options > Connect and select the connection method – Bluetooth or USB. I would recommend connecting via data cable as it is faster. After you are connected, you can use the mobile camera as your Webcam.

In some latest phones there may be a webcam feature provided which is in-built in your mobile phone. So you don’t require any extra software’s for making your mobile camera as a webcam. With the help of that in-built software you can even call and chat on Skype which is already installed in the latest phones and you can talk with others and also see their faces. It will look like as live.
