Toshiba NB305-440 memory upgrade not working

I have attempted 3 dissimilar sticks of 2 GB DDR3 RAM, the most recent one the well priced Kingston memory that Toshiba says is certain to work. I have not been able to obtain the thing to boot with any of them. It sets on and off a few times after that stays on but the screen stays blank. I just rose to Windows 7 Home Premium. Tech support said it was not a known problem and referred me to a local mend place. I cannot discover anything on this anyplace on the internet. Anybody else having this trouble?

I have the Toshiba NB305-N442. I just returned a Kingston 2 GB DDR3 stick to Newegg as it did the similar stuff you are discussing about. However, it was not on the listing of well-matched sticks on the Kingston site, so it was my trouble and I had to consume the restocking fee. I as well upgraded to windows 7 Home Premium. I have prearranged the Toshiba brand memory PA3676U-1M2G and it should land tomorrow. I will let you know if it works.

Do not worry to attempt upgrading your NB305-442 or any model with DDR3. I just installed the Toshiba 2 GB RAM model number PA3676U-1M2G and it does not work. The Netbook does not boot. Similar symptoms as expressed above. This is the Toshiba branded and suggested RAM. I acquired it from Toshiba direct. No one at Toshiba has any answers; I am getting the run around. I spent the few hour on the phone, don’t misuse your money attempting to upgrade!

While I call to tech support they just said that, it was not a known trouble and told me to a place some computer site, an official service center for Toshiba. They attempted with my 2 GB Kingston and each brand of 2 GB they had and naught worked. After that they attempted with lots of their 1 GB sticks and each of them worked. They said Toshiba won't transport them or anybody parts for the Netbooks, just service option is sending it to the Toshiba store. They were truly obliging and didn’t charge me a thing.

I prearranged the Toshiba PA3676U-1M2G 2GB memory stick from ToshibaDirect and I just sent it back. Later than quite a lot of minutes on the phone with them, I was told that Toshiba was dragging all memory upgrades for this exacting model NB305-N442. They overlooked to remove the memory upgrade on the thorough product spec sheet. No cause was given as to why they were pulling the advanced memory.

Re: Toshiba NB305-440 memory upgrade not working

I acquired my NB305-N410NB about 3 weeks ago. I rapidly upgraded the BIOS to version 1.5. In doing so, there was a note which the Netbook would currently support DDR3. An earlier post declared that DDR3 wouldn't exertion and that I should acquire the Toshiba suggested Kingston DDR2. I performed so and setup the novel 2 GB DDR module. At first, the notebook wouldn't boot there is only blank screen. On the next attempted boot, I lastly got windows 7 starter to turn up.

Re: Toshiba NB305-440 memory upgrade not working

Just bought this netbook and the crucial recommended 2GB RAM upgrade. worked fine for a couple of days now will not boot up. No HDD movement, nada.

    Any ideas?

It seems as though this is a common problem. 1GB not really good enough.

Should i put back in the box get a refund and then a different netbook?

    Thanks

Regrettably, I think that you should return your Toshiba NB305-440N back because there are many negative review right in the companies official website , I have a friend who just had the same problem and returned it back to the Best buy from where he has purchased it , and more over the company also did not charged him for this ,but he on the other way round had to explain them that the it was not performing well as said by the company and was not at all upgradeable to 2Gb. Just check that with your vendor . And I bet yur would get a full refund .
