Need suggestion before buying a Smartphone

My sister and I are prepared to take the plunge into big Touchscreen (like- iPhone) Smartphone’s. First, a few information on how we plan to utilize them: At present, my sister comprises a plain cell phone and I have a Palm Treo, but not any of us utilizes a data plan. Here are the things I guess us to be accomplishing with the latest devices:
    1. Phone calls: We are not big phone addicts, so possibly will not pay for limitless minutes.
    2. Internet access. We don't accomplish this at present from our phones, but I do expect to from the latest devices. As we travel a good bit, I suppose to utilize the devices to navigate and to hunt for information on hotels, restaurants and places we plan to break. Will as well utilize it to check flight status and do online register, and may utilize it to do ticketing. Don't expect this to surpass a pair of hours on any given day.

And many more things are there. Please if anyone here has any idea or any suggestion related to Smartphone than please help me.

Quite a bit there. I will just identify a few things. Others here will discern more. First, are you sticking with an exacting carrier? Currently just AT&T is setup to permit both voice and data at the similar time. VZW will be one time they have LTE in place but not up till now. Not certain but don't think any of the others have this capability. EBooks and video -would suggest the biggest screen obtainable. Present Smartphone’s have screens up to about 4.5 inches. Dell makes one phone, the Streak, which is 5". It is obtainable from Best Buy for utilize on AT&T.

I would say Android, pursued by iOS, is your finest bets. Sooner than go through your complete post, here are a few quickie things to see:
    1. iOS does not necessitate you to upload movies to the iTunes store, but you do necessitate adding them to your (individual) iTunes library to sync. Android just needs a drag and drop of a well-matched file to your movies folder on your SD card.
    2. Both iOS and Android have the main eBook stores obtainable. If you are looking for a larger screen in a Smartphone package, you obtain more bangs for your money with Android.

You are saying AT&T is as costly as Verizon? Aren't you leaving out leveled data? For the moment, there is no tiered data alternative on VZW. If you can live with tiered data, AT&T comes out a complete lot cheaper, $190 a year cheaper. If VZW ever gets back tiered data, I will be all over it (one time my AT&T ETF is low sufficient). My reporting experience with AT&T has been quite poor. Approximately daily I am in a state where I can't make a call or can't obtain data. I had factually gone years devoid of such a situation while I was on VZW, but the dissimilarity in coverage isn't dramatic sufficient to defend being forced to pay extra for data which I don't need or utilize. Verizon is supposed to be hands off with their newer phones but they have a rep for crippling phones (I had 2 of their crippled phones and it was not amusing), so I would not at all pick up a VZW phone without cautiously reviewing what they have (or haven't) made to it.

Verizon and AT&T have toggled positions on this with Android. Verizon is extremely hands off on their Android Phones while AT&T has gutted the functionality which permits any kind of side loading, even if you are installing with the browser or emailing the application. Excuse yourself from AT&T except you actually wish an iPhone. I utilize AT&T, but I have an unsheltered unbranded phone I utilize as a Gophone and they can't touch me.

The Motorola Atrix is way expensive, in my opinion, especially the dock thingy. Cut the cost in half and it begins to become striking, but it's at a standstill more luxurious than an actual Netbook. The majority Smartphone will charge through USB, I think. My Samsung Captivate acts, and that looks to be the typical way. It does take a microUSB cable, but there are adapters obtainable if you require them. I obtain d a miniUSB-to-microUSB adapter for less than $5, because I have many miniUSB cables on hand. It's suitable to leave a cable in many places, rather than carrying one about all the time. It's simple to take the small adapter.
