Need information on Android 2.2 and 2.3 for Motorola Defy

Is there any information of having either Android 2.2 or 2.3 for the Motorola defy will Motorola be unsuccessful in updating this phone as they performed with the Cliq XT. What do you think do you think defy can manage 2.2 and 2.3. Anyone have any kind of idea or any information on this? Please provide me some useful information or some detail about this. All incoming information is really appreciated.

It would be good if T-Mobile and Motorola would obtain their act mutually and post some news on this. I acquired this phone with assure they would be functioning better together to get updates done. Thus far I am not noticing it. I am guessing that Motorola is less likely to post predictable information about product updates in the occasion that they can't meet the deadlines. People look to think that planned updates mean the updates are assured and the consumers are entitled to them no stuff how they perform.

We all purchased Android phones with the knowledge that the operating system is a moving target and assures of the 2.2 release for the Defy at a few vague date this year. As many have observed, 2.3 will ship any day now and we don't even have 2.2 up till now. T-Mobile screwed us with my sister's G1 (not at all updated past 1.6), and we are previously 9 months behind on releases for the Defy, which by anybody's measure is excessively latent. If I don't get to as a minimum 2.4 on my Defy, and in a much more timely way than we are seeing with the 2.2 release, it will basically cost T-Mobile a 4-phone account.

It's not as simple as just making an easy ROM for a phone and places it out there. Yes, there are phones which run a vanilla OS and it is simpler for them to be upgraded, but these cells are not and will not be. Phones which are promoted with a certain feature for example MotoBlur will have MotoBlur all through their life cycle. There's investigate and development costs for the developer group however lots of strong it may be. There are delays which come by while certain business partners don't continue their end of a software deadline, pushing things back. Not all software can be urbanized in-house.

I know this won't be well-liked with the majority of the people here but I am very glad with my Defy and don't mind if it not at all sees a 2.2 update. I am not into downloading the most recent applications so my phone is plainly untouched apart from for the current update. The whole thing works like it should and I have accurately what I required. A small phone with a unique sized high definition screen, superior than average camera and grand call quality. This is not a best priced device and I just think that what I obtained for the money was well sufficient.

I think Motorola requires trying to get the fresher versions running on their previously released phones to confirm quality and performance. One time they know they can do it is while they should inform the public. They could as well just say it is below consideration. Planning and informing the public regarding future upgrades is truly a shot in the dark accept their engineers know they can make it happen. People have understood targeted release dates for updates as guarantees by the produce that it is coming. While the guaranteed upgrade is late, buggy, or doesn't come, people suffer betrayed because they are "owed" an upgrade which they were "assured."
