Toshiba A135-S4424 screen shrinks after touching pointer or touchpad

I love my Toshiba A135-S4427 which I have bought last month with Windows Vista OS, I had some problem with the touchpad of laptop, I thought this can be because of OS so I just wanted to check the Windows 7 so I installed Windows 7 Home as well but on a different drive. But yet I am facing the same problem with my touchpad, the problem is whenever I tap the touchpad bit hard, the programs running on the screen and the browsers shrinks in the tray. I have checked all required settings but still touchpad giving same result this very annoying when you are working with concentration. Please help me out because this lappy is perfect according to my requirements issue is just with the pointer or touchpad. Please help me, thanks in advance.

Dude I have been through such kind of problem with my laptop, this issue or problem is quite very small but yeah you’re this is very annoying when you are working on some very important project or work. You have to open your programs and browsers again. I did not had much time to visit service center so what I did was in the Synaptics settings I disabled the tapings, and started using buttons for the clicking. I know this is not the proper solution but for a time being you can use it.

Well in your problem there can be any reason one reason out of these three it can be due to some hardware flaw, it can also due to the OS of the system but as you said this thing is not working on both the OS and giving same problem so it might be due to some drive problem but according to you it’s not due to the driver because you have installed the different OS on different drive, just try it one more time by installing the Vista on other drive then check and also update all the drivers if you get the same result then according to me it’s definitely a hardware problem. And connect mouse and it works then sure it’s a hardware problem.

Hey even I had the same problem with my Toshiba laptop and I used the same solution provided my one of the member above I disabled the tapings, but you may face some problem while doing that, I had some issues while disabling the taping but when I tried to change the Synaptics settings there was no option like “Disable tap zone” so what I did was I installed the Synaptics drivers from Toshiba in my laptop then I disabled the taping and started using buttons for clicking. Just right click on the touchpad and click on properties from there you can disable taping. Have nice a day.

Yeah you guys are right we can disable the taping and efficiently use the buttons to click , even I had the same problem and even I will give the same solution as above users have given you but with detailed instructions so that you will be able to disable taping without more queries first update the Synaptics driver. Then open control panel in Mouse go to device setting and there will be some reading stuff. There your touch pad will be highlighted and there will be a “settings” button now scroll down through all the reading contents and disable the option which you don’t want taping, scrolling etc. and now “Apply” changes and click on OK. And now your touchpad will be disabled from taping.
