My Computer does not recognize Canon A650 IS digital camera

Hello friends, I have a certain issue present with my camera. My camera is Canon A650 IS digital camera, Here in the recent times I have noticed that all my pictures that were present in the camera was not getting uploaded in the computer, I have an HP pavilion with a vista operating system, since I heard that the vista is not good as such I am still using it. In the earlier stage the computer was able to connect to the secure digital card; my computer is around a year old. So I tried to read all the pictures from the onboard card reader and that option was working fine, but after some time that solution was also not happening because of the problem became worse. The Secure digital card is working now only into the camera but not in the computer by any means. What is the problem that I am facing?

See dude, you are facing the same problem that I was facing in the previous camera that I was using around a year. You know that the software that were provided with the camera was a big problem, the version that I was using for the software issues was not that compatible and if you use more than one software which is used for editing or some other software for editing the pictures in the computer that may also lead to the problem. So try to remove all the software that are present in the computer and then again install the latest updated version of the software that is present in the internet. Be sure that what kind of the function that you require from the software.

Hey the dude is right, since there are two software present, which is creating the problem. Because sometime the approach to connect the internet is different for different type of software. So because of that, it will create ambiguity. Even if you see the task manager, it will show two different type of process that are present. So terminate the process and you will find that the USB may connect to the computer, if this is the only issue only. Also after this, try to install a new version of the drivers that are present in the site, download them and then try to install it and check if any error occurs in the computer, I think this should eliminate the problem.

These is what the solution I offer you, it is weird and require another device to connect through the computer. I removed the secure digital card from the camera and then inserted into an Olympus LS-10 digital recorder. Once I have done that then I connected it into the computer and it detected the device and also the secure digital card. Once that is been done then I transferred all the data that were present in the secure digital card into the computer, this really helped a lot but the main issue was not solved. But no worries till I am getting my data to transferred from the card to the computer because I do not want to mess up the computer for a problem when it has a solution for it.

I just want to ask one question that how you are removing the USB cable. Are you removing the cable by just pulling it from the slot? If you are doing that then it is bad for the computer and the device because you are not following the proper way to remove it. The correct way to remove the remove the device from the USB slot by stopping the device from the eject hardware from the computer, or you can also do the following way. In the my computer, search for the icon of the camera and then right click on that, you will provide the option of ejecting. Click on that and then the device will be stopped. Because you was pulling the wire it was not getting terminate properly and when you would connect it again it was in a particular stage, where it should give an error.
