How to block private number from calling?

I am using the at&t go phone and my problem is that, I am getting the calls from some of the private number. I don’t want to get the calls from those numbers and that is the reason that I want to block them so that they can not make the call to my number in anyway. I am not having any idea that how can I do that but I know that it is possible to do it. So if you know the exact way by which I can block those number then please post your suggestions over here.
