No Internet despite of strong AirPort signal can connect to router

I had an issue in my MacBook Pro that had a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo OS X 10.6.6 , let me tell you a bit about it . Suddenly, whenever I attempt to plug to my home Wifi network, I find no Internet. The signal looks to be strong. I can notice all of the common active Wifi zones in the neighborhood. I have no issue "connecting" to the network (there is a test next to the name of the network in the drop-down list, etc.), but I cannot see any IP address allocated to my computer and I can not access the Internet. The similar thing occurs when I attempt to use other available wifi networks. I have no issues using my home network with other devices, so it's not router/ISP problem . I can also successfully access the Internet on my MacBook Pro with the help of an ethernet connection to the similar router, but I cannot do the same with the wifi.

If you have the same problem with other networks, then it seem as if there is some kind of a issue with the airport card. Is it acquiring a self-allocated IP address? Well I will ask you to go to the then to the network and go to the advanced . Go to System Preferences>Network>Advanced. I will ask to open the TCP/IP tab. That will display your settings. If the IPV4 Address begins with 169, it has a self-assigned IP address and will not connect. You can attempt clicking on "Renew DHCP list" and observe if this resolves it. If it does, the IPv4 address must modify. If it does, click OK.

To be precise , my modem and my router are a sole unit (a well-known thing here in France for providing a triple-play resolution). The single thing I almost certainly must have done before I leave my place would have been to do a firmware update, but my supplementary device (iPhone with cellular data switched off) connected successfully with no issues . The Mac was having the similar kind of issue as well with other wifi zones, so I leaned to rule out the "router."

But if the above thing does not work in your case you can attempt configuring the IPv4 Address yourself. You can get the majority of the numbers from a diverse device associated to the same network. The IPv4 number will be the same for every device apart from the number after the ending period, so insert a number for that period that is not being used by a different device. The Subnet Mask and Router numbers are going to be the same for all the devices. After you have done this , select OK and check if it connects then.
