Apple Remote with the MacBook Air

I have determined to get a 11 inch MacBook Air to substitute my 13 inch Macbook Pro. I' will be using it next to my 24" cinema display so that I can still benefit from a desktop knowledge while watching movies or editing photos where I require the bigger screen real estate. Everybody is talking about how they overlook and neglect the illuminated keyboard, but for me, the major loss (choosing from a Macbook to Macbook Air ) is the capability to access Front Row suitably with the Apple Remote. This raises a doubt and a query - what use is the Apple Remote alongwith the MacBook Air? While I sell it my Pro or can I still make use of it someway in union with Keynote presentations, etc?

It probably looks silly to nearly everyone, but having the infrared sensor on the Pro and using Front Row to manage DVD movies, then the contets of the and the images , etc. well I do not agree that you will have to do all those stuffs that are being mentioned in the above post , What he said. You just require an iOS device, one of the abundant App Store apps, and WiFi and nothing else and your work will be done .

Well I have tried both the ways in fact doesn't work very fine .I spend most of my leisure time in watching movies. The problem with the remote application is it has to plug to my machine every time I use it I am uncertain how much battery power the IR port consume , but I strongly desire Apple had reserved it.

I have heard that it is quite possible to make use of a Wii remote with the new MacbookAir. You can plug it via Bluetooth and configure it using a free applicatgion. Can anyone make it certain s? I think there was a video being posted in some of your forums’s thread . Also, I visited the technical Desk to get help in my data transfer and the guy also suggested the Wii remote as a possible solution as well.

Generally you make use of the iPhone as a remote when you are using your Macbook sitting in front of your it . And WiFi is generally available, but if not, just create a network from your Macbook. If you are wanting to do so with Bluetooth, not achievable since bluetooth usage is limited. And developers don not actually see people wishing to control their computers over 3G unless it's a remote desktop/VNC kind of application.
