How to configure 3g hsdpa modem in meego

How to configure a Nokia Meego device to be used as HSDPA modem for a pc. I am unable to figure out why so many devices like Huawei, ZTE, etc has no support on Linux. It is hard to use them as modem on a Linux system. I am having a laptop with me which is providing the issue. I want to use a Nokia Meego device on my pc as a modem to run some latest updates. But it is not detected.

That is possible in windows because you can add the modem drivers. And if you are able to find drivers for Linux then also it will work. It is necessary that you must simply try to find the right modem drivers. You have to search Google for that. Or else it will be really complicated to use it. I am using HTC on my pc where it works really well. I am able to get a constant 3G speed on my pc.

If you can install Nokia PC suite then you can try using the device as a modem. But I do not really think Nokia PC suite is available for Linux platform. I am able to use my phone internet on my pc through that. Once connected there is a internet icon you just have to click on that in the PC suite. A new modem will be installed in your system and done. You can then use the internet.

You can try using Nokia PC Suite through Wine. It allow you to run windows application on Linux. Just install that and update everything. Then through PC suite you have to go in Menu and then go in Tools. Then go in Settings and click on Connection. You have to click on Access Points in that. Configure the same and share internet.
