As you had said that you are not able to turn your portable system , since you have not charged it for a long time . According to you the issue is with the jack or the connector but you are not sure about that then it is not mandatory that the issue is with the jack , it might be the charger or the battery as well , so you need to first diagnose the issue according to me you should clean the battery space with alcohol then give it a try.

I think you are correct, but still you missed out one point and that too a significant one , you need the check the wall socket as well , most people have the tendency to plug their devices on the same socket and forget about the same that it can be turned out to be faulty as well so for that reason you can try and plug in some other socket as well . After doing that you need to check your battery , you can test the battery , to do that you have the only option to try to fit in the other portable device of the same manufacturer and see whether that laptop does power on or not. Then take the necessary step accordingly.

After making sure that the laptop's battery and the wall socket is working absolutely fine and still you cannot power on the system and you made it certain that the issue is with the jack or the port of the laptop then you will have to open it and see for the broken cables . You can solder them out if you are able to do so . Then try to power on the system , if still you cannot you can ask for the replacement if your system falls under warranty.
