How import contacts to Desire from excel

Hi all, I have exported an excel file form my old phone that is having the contacts name and their number into that. Now I am having the HTC Desire and need to import the entire contacts to my new phone. I am very new to the HTC and therefore don’t know much about this. If anyone over here have any idea that how can it be done then please post your suggestion over here so that it will be helpful to me. I have tried it on my own way but that was not successful. Thank you very much in advance.

I know that how can you do that. If you want to import the contacts from your phone then first of all, you need to export to CSV into gmail. For that you can try to use the Explorer. Try this and check if that can help you or not. Once you are done with this then you can import the contacts to your phone from gmail. I think that this is the only way by which this can be done. I hope that you will be able to do that without any problem.

If you do not want to use gmail for that then there is also one way by which you will be able to that and can import the contacts directly to your phone. For that you will have to convert that file to the .vcard format. After converting that file, you will be able to import that file directly to the phone memory and you can use those contacts. I think that this will be the best way to import those into your phone.

If you do not wish to make use of the Outlook and its feature of importing contact then you can make use of the gmail import. This will be the best way for you. Once you are finished with the import process then you can delete them from the google. I usually change phone from about every 6 months and every time I do the same and I can say that this is very easy and helpful for me. I wish that you will also get the same experience as I get.
